prune, clip, cut off leave to get light to the plant or cut new growth for a shorter bushy plant with more compact colas. go to growfaq

If you don't want to buy a bigger HPS, you might consider this. Take the bulb out of the reflector and let it hang maybe a foot lower than the plants are tall. Then, arrange the plants around the bulb in a circle. Rotate the pots about 60 degrees every day so that each side of the plant is getting light.

Since going into 12/12 you can really expect those plants to gain more height in a very short time.

Good luck!
Unfortantly I wont be able to take the bulb out of the reflector, due to the way the light is built...

Great idea though...

i dont know man I dont think you should trim nothing that will hurt the plant, your main concern I think will be that they will double or triple in size during flowering. I dont think there will be enough room for that, ask somone with more knowledge if it would be better for you to top them and make them a lot shorter. but definatly dont trim the leaves. you plants ar not that thick they are real skinny and real tall and light is penatrating fine they are just real tall

keep an eye out for hot spots with that wrinked wall covering. IMHO i would ditch that stuff if you cant get it any flater than that and just use paint. also why do you have the light hangin off to the side like that?

I can flatten out the reflective material, I don't have many options on where i can put the light, although i do turn the plants 60 - 90 degress everyday.

Where i live, their is no problems with heat what so ever...

Might just take off some of the larger leaves towards the bottom..????

why not get some short eye screws and put them in the wood ceiling (make sure not to go all the way through the roof) and then hang the light from chains or rope from the cieling.

i think he is. hook those chains so the light points down an move the plants under
Right so...
Will try and move it up, however it wont be directly above plants, but not far away....
will keep you posted and post pics for you's

thanks for all the advice...

also make sure your attic is light tight, no light should be visable during the 12 dark period, if there is no way to do that, make sure it is no more the what the moon would project.

Attic is defo light tight... pitch black up there..

I'm going to have to wait its time for the light to come on but dont have it switched on and adjust my light then and as quickly as i can...

you could train them or hold off flowering by a week or so would be best. it takes plants about a week to get over a good trim. if i were in your shoes i would trim them all back to whatever size your grow space can handle. toss all the tops you cut in for clones and wait for the plants to get over the shock to flower. if you just started flowering you can put them back into veg without much trouble or stess to the plants.
say youve got 3 plants 3' tall now. you can trim out 9 plants 1' tall. try to give them at least 2 weeks of reveg. by that time the plants you started with will be over the shock of the trim, and your clones will almost be ready to start flowering. growing with HID lights youll never get a ton-o-weed from tall plants. the light just will not get down deep enough to grow much bud more than about 1' into the canopy. so try to keep'um shorter and just have more plants.
also if your going to be growing all the time now you might wanna think about makeing a few mother plants. saves loads of time and hassle. hope it all works out for ya.

They are looking good. I would still top them and makes some clones before you flower cause they are going to get taller.
