Some advice on flowering time for my indica/sativa plant

Im growing a free seed i got with my last order i wouldnt normally want to spend much time on a plant that i didnt choose but i looked the strain up and and read the reviews and it seems like it will be ok. The plant is CH9 Critical Mass (Mr Nice Shantibaba) X Jack 33.

This is the info i got of the website i dont understand the flowering time stated:
Indoor Flowering Time 7/8 weeks : Short (up to 55 days);Medium (56 to 90 days) what the hell does this mean?

Its 4 weeks into flower and its looks very healthy but the buds are not that big and are mostly hairs i mean they are damn hairy and its stretched like hell its over 3ft now (1ft i veg) the leaves look like a sativa plants even though it supposed to be indica dominant. So guys im struggling to know how long to flower her for because at 1 month flower i think i should be seeing better bud formation especially if its only got 3-4 weeks left to flower.

I am not an expert by any means, but I think the plants will tell you how much time you have left. Pick up a lighted microscope at radio shack for $15. When the triches are to your liking, then bring out the chainsaw. This is what I did anyway. With the advice I got from this site. It is pretty interesting to check em out that close too. But there are so many variables that no two timetables are the same...hope this helps.

well i'm not sure what exactly they mean by "short(55 days), and medium(56-90) days" so i can't help you there...but the buds are gunna put on most of their weight in the last couple weeks dude, you still have a while yet, once you're around 7 weeks i'd start checking trichomes, until then just keep given her lovin as much as possible

Just sloppiness on the part of whoever wrote the description. The developer of the strain is telling us to expect an indoor grow
to finish in 7-8 weeks flowering. Someone else has decided to fit the 7-8 week prediction into simpler, dumber "short/medium/long"
categories. 7-8 weeks = 49-56 days. 56 just barely overlaps from "short" to "medium" (56-90) so the dummy includes "medium" with the more
accurate "short". Cut them some slack. They're probably in a quality control meeting, eh?

P.S. I usually figure that my flowering plants (mostly indicas) will double the size of the buds in the final 2 weeks.
If your buds look smaller than half as big as you expect, you got more than 2 weeks to go. I would expect a 4 week flowering plants'
buds to be half or more their final size. In your case it sounds like something, weak lights, heat stress, something has slowed early
growth. Important thing is they look healthy now. Keep them well-watered and watch the pistils change color from white to dark.
Trichome development, THE definitive way to determine maturity, follows pistil darkening. Normal flow of development goes bud
appearance, pistil appearance, trichome appearance, pistils darken then trichomes darken. Pistils are much easier to monitor and
will tip you to trichome development.

Your welcome ;>).

If the breeders say 7/8 weeks I would guess they will finish in around 9the the breeders times are based on perfect conditions for that strain
