No way in hell! So I’ve seen these solo cup grows because I had the bright idea of why transplant if I can just keep it in here. Plant only gets as big as the pot it’s in right? So it’ll stay nice and short just how I want it. But like won’t it get root bound? How do you treat all of that? I’d love To know because I seen on YouTube dudes were getting an Oz and OVER from one CUP! I couldn’t believe my eyes

That thread is full of them. Prepare for multiple waterings per day, and a bigger pot is easier

I honestly was just gonna do it because I had seeds laying around and to cover some extra space in the tent. But if it’s not really worth it then I’ll try them all in 1 gallons.

What exactly do you do to maintain the roots. Or anything differently from bigger potted plants ?
I don't do anything or add any products. Both of those were grown in soil I mixed and then just watered with tap water straight from the tap. When I did start to give any feed it was only 1/4 - 1/3 strength. The second picture that plant has only been given compost tea in between watering's from the hose when I was watering my garden. So nothing special. Minimal feedings and that's it. The second photo that plants bottom leaves are yellowing but I'm not concerned with that. The seed was planted on May 5th so the bottom leaves dying off on a 4+ month old plant isn't anything I'm concerned about. If anything lower feeding is better than overfeeding especially in small containers.

I’ve seen with the small containers the roots will tangle themselves and eventually die . But people say you can trim them . Why didn’t you have to? I’m confused on what they would’ve been doing differently

I don't know. Maybe they do too much. I just leave them alone and let them grow. Water them when they need it and give them minimal amounts of food. Many people overfeed which is why they have issues.

I did go to move this one only to find out a big root had grown out of the bottom of the pot and into the ground. It's just an Ethiopian I didn't have room for indoors so I just put it in the backyard and watered it when it was dry. Doesn't look all that good and I still don't know what to do with it. It hasn't even started flowering yet. I hate killing plants but this one might just have to go as it can't come inside and it definitely won't finish even in the greenhouse. It's a sativa that takes about 14 weeks to flower. The tops had just been supercropped. It's quite pale and obviously underfed but it's just been fed with the hose and maybe 2 light feedings. It's been neglected but still growing pretty healthy considering everything.

Yeah so In a case like that . What would you do about that? Do you trim them and it’ll be fine or let it rock out and die

Well I ripped it out of the ground and it didn't seem to notice. Roots are still sticking out. I didn't trim them.

Typically roots won't grow like that unless they have somewhere to go for moisture. In this case it was the ground. But they will air prune if no moisture is available. I'm making some SIP planters that I'll be able to use the small pots with. I'll start them indoors and then just slip the square nursery pot into it when I stick them outside for my outdoor plants next summer.

I’m doing everything indoors and I had the extra space so why not do a few small ones right . But I don’t want to run into any crazy situations and ruin my babies
