as title says solis double end hps vs 4k mh for flower. the tech guy at solis says 4k is best for flowering.. has anyone got experience with these?

i did the hortilux 7200 k blue before not double ended . it was a 1000 watts and hung the bulb straight up and down like hortilux suggest in flower . it came out very good . slightly less yield then usual very slight for the quality it was higher it grew different then the hps more close together on the branch if you will very dense . if i could find an article that actually suggest using 4200 k mh instead of the 2000 and up hps we all use it explained a lot of technical information . i did do the 4200 k mh as well but in a 400 watt situation and it came out the same as the hortilux hps . quality was the same . if your not a commercial grow and in need for a light you will be happy . the 7200 hortilux quality was the best . but that bulb is a full spectrum and is suggested to flower with as well . look at the chart on this hortilux blue. its a winner . http://www.eyehortilux.com/education-room/spectraldistributionguide.aspx what bulb are you proposing to use in the 4000 spectrum ?

http://growershouse.com/solis-tek-double-ended-1000-mh-10k look at that the spectrum chart . compare it to the 7200 i suggest if you want to do the mh in flower . and compare it to the hps . to me this bulb is intended for veg only looking at the spectrum chart its very light in the red . pull up all 3 spectrum charts at one . you will understand what im talking about .

that would be an interesting arcticle.. hps vs 4200k.. are you suggesting to use a 10k all the way thru, instead of a 4.2k?

10k is a horrible spectrum for flower . its suggest about 1 week remaining in flower to turn those 10k bulbs on . i use the 10k for veg as well it works just as good as any other mh . . if i were you i would stick with the hps bulbs 2000k and up . http://www.eyehortilux.com/products/double-ended-grow-lamps.aspx?gclid=CjwKEAiAuc_FBRD7_JCM3NSY92wSJABbVoxBKIeqbt21OJ4ABjByNqii1Lv7ysROpnSO8Srq9AQNOxoC9rHw_wcB are you able to keep these double ended usually open hoods . make a lot of heat . can you keep it cool ? they do sell a air cooled double ended fixture as well . really wondering if the double ended bulbs really give more yields compared to traditional some people swear by them . i seen them in the hydro stores i did not honestly see any differences with my eyes bad comparison tool by the way . so what is your end goal make a shit load of it or just for you ? personally hps do make some very sexy grows .

All I can tell you that my 6-750 de at 825 watts beats my single ended 1,000 for yeild.

yes it is just for me. my quality is acceptable, wouldn't mind a lil more. I been using 600w with traditional hps for years, just want to try something different. I am using a sunpulse 3k in a spot now for a test run.

Yes, a gavita 600-750 de flex. Nothing wrong with 600 hps either. I can get almost 2# from a 600 hps in a 4 x 4.
