I would recommend using Fox Farm Ocean Forest organic potting soil for vegging and flowering. For starting off the seedlings you can use either rockwool, or light warrior.

Fox Farm is an organic. I heard u can use synthetic soil to grow too keep bugs and mites away. Is that true

Yeah the most popular are ProMix and Sunshine Mix #4

the downside (for me it's an upside) is there are no nutes in it so you have to feed em

read my NooB Advice thread page 36 for the how to's

PS Mir is short for Miracle Grow

If you want to save lots of money on soil I would recommend using miracle grow organics choice potting mix in the brown bag. I've been a fox farm ocean forest user for a couple of years. Don't listen to others when they say mg will fry your plants. They don't know what they are talking about & are only repeating what others who don't know what they are talking about. Yes if you use the wrong mg soil you will have problems so make sure you use the miracle grow potting mix in the brown bag. I will never use ffof again. Not necessary & my ak48 herb tastes identical between the ffof & mgocpm in brown bag :bigjoint:

Miracle Grow Organic Choice is actually a really good soil.especially for miracle grow.but in general from everything ive read and heard fox farms ocean forest is the best soil to use.but if u wanna save a little money and still get good plants id go with MG Organic Choice its what ive been using the past 3 grows and i havent had any problems with nute issues,or any other issue with it

No matter what soil you use, it wont make a diffrence in mite infestation. They most likely come anyways. Not to put that on you though. I would recommend Aurora by roots organics, Fox Farms Ocean Forrest. Mix each one with a fluffier media. I see alot of flying insects with FFOF though. I dont use it so maybe its just the grower. Good Luck,SS

Ive used miricle grow organic and not even the tomatoes liked it.
