basically which is better for a beginner grower? as i am goin from seed not clone. which would be best? any ideas please lmk!

by far soil is ten times easier than hydro for a beginner.
dont even try hydro till you have researched it.
i would use roots organic soil and mix in a little bat guano and you'll have some awesome plants.

^ I agree... start soil if you're a beginner, get a feel for the hobby and try hydro down the line... Alot less factors and stress it seems with soil... Although I have never grown hydro (intimidating) I gotta close buddy who's a pro at it. IMO... soil is the way to go, for a beginner

I use soil to veg then a month later use pro mix to flower. Add my own nutes in flower but let the ff do the feeding while they veg.

This is what I did
Get a bag of seed starter soil, that's what it's called @ any big box store fill plastic beer cups, poke a couple holes in the bottom about 1/4 inch. They can pop and live in there for 4 to 6 weeks with no food just Ph water. Than put in promix or sunshine. Use Botaniccare Pro with Cal mag for flower. Once you master that move on if you want. Lots of big growers use Pro or Sunshine.

see i have just put 3 seeds in some mg seed starting mix consisting of 90-95% peat moss. which i hear is ok tho it is mg. but im still having trouble if i can put nutes when they get old enuff and it wont harm them due to time release feeds and all that. the bag doesnt have any warnings about uses of other feeds so ......

I have used the MG starter lots of times and they don't need food for 4 to 6 weeks.

i thought he meant soil vs soilless soil, which is what i started on... i had some problems with it but its a lot of my fault i just made a post asking some questions....

everyone gets so confused when you say soiless. even the guy at the nursery was confused for a second. but i like soiless for starting seeds, jiffy seed starter. it has close to zero nutes. you can then use that to grow it out in aswell. you will just need to add more nutes than if you were to go from soiless seedling starter to Fox Farm or something else with nutes.
