Soil V.S Hydro

Just wondering in your guys' experience, which have you had the most success with. As far as yield/ potency. You know, basically the pros and cons. Hassles, costs, pests, etc, etc... any information will be appreciated

I grow in my home, so I ruled out soil as to not be messy and went with an ebb/flow hydrogarden for both my veg/flowering. I'd never gardened before and found to be very straight forward overall. Take a couple of hours and use youtube to peruse the popular growing methods, choose one and then learn everything else you can about it for a couple hours more.

My only hassle, I haul around a lot of water but have never had any spills/leaks.

To growers its more about personal situation than what is better.

Once you learn how to do both fairly well,then it just becomes's a question of rather you want to feed all your plant individually every other day or fill up your rez once every few days??!!!????!!!!lol

I would personally like to go dro, but got no where indoors.

i did both at once and found dirt is cheap and forgiving hydro is fast and expensive and require more work and time

Hydro is VERY low maintenece. pH adjust every day, change your res out each week, put your shiz on a timer, it doesn't get easier than that. I do both but prefer the consistency of hydro.

Here's a thought, if you don't want to answer a question..... simply DON'T. I've Googled about a million times. I wanted to know the OPINIONS, of some experienced growers.

I guess, hydro just seems a little more in depth. I mean soil is very straight forward. I think I will stick with it until I become a bit more knowledgeable of the whole process. It never ceases to amaze me how versatile cannabis is. I'm the type of grower who's on a budget. Thanks for the help.

he means he wants u to take ur time on ur reseach he doesnt want u to jumop into this unprpared soil is cheap hydro not as much but is pretty easy to do

me im sorta new myself i got my babys in soil my budget doesnt incluse all of that stuff but i can say if i wanted to i could make oone by hand i figure a pump water buchets scizzors and a good portion of time would do th trick
but i wann a go with soil then go to that
also if u got a question like that its best to say uve alredy researched it

study up and im sure you will do fine on either

you dont have to worry so much bout feeding nutrients when your in soil cause there's tons of nute's in the soil but you have to do your whole soil mix and depending on weather or not your bustin a lot of plants that could be a ton of work! i know that even if you did'nt feed any nute's to your soil plants they would be good cause the nute's life expectancy in soil is bout 3-months. plus you can only fill the gardens around you and your friends house with the left over soil so many times then you have to start figuring out were your gonna go dump 20 trash bags full of dirt! Hydro depending on weather or not your doing buckets or tables you either have to dump a bunch of used up rockwool or you can use the same clay rocks over and over,thats what i like to do. its nice though if you just got to fill a rez cause then all you have to do is what the plant tells you to feed and the rez will give you extra time to do other things. I would say learn both asap that way you can be versatile in your kanowlege!!

i recycled my soil by composting it with kitchen scraps until the next season, this season. and my plants look great not using any nutes.

Go with a basic DWC system. all you need is a bin of some sort(rubber made tote, cooler etc..) air pump and stone and your all set. ph water daily and add nutes weekly...pretty much runs itself. don't be turned off to hydro by the "its harder and more expensive" perception some people have.

Tis truth you speak..... My first round of plants are failing. I'm thinking of just putting them in the flowering stage to see what happens. Their growth is stunted considerably :shrug:

soil all day. i've seen everything and personally i think hydro might be a tiny bit of a bigger yield and you can harvest a tiny bit quicker but soil tastes much better than hydro. i think you should try both. oh and if you are curious about hydro, aeroponics is where its at. but get your fingernails dirty and go soil

If its your first time growing go with soil.

I tried hydro for my first grow and fucking killed every single plant haha, sucks but it was a learning experience so not a total loss.

I hear that soil is much more forgiving and thats what I'm doing for my second grow right now.

Depends on your living space......do you have room for hydro or do you have a private area in your yard to grow outdoors. The question you are asking is not as "cut and dry" as you may think! Your a creature of your enviroment and if you really want to grow you do so in any manner nessecary "period". You got a farm you use soil, you live in a big city you use a closet, you live in the burbs you use a room or a basement or even a garage. Now if I had the choice of any of the above I would choose "BUYIN IT" cause I obviously have to much f'in money!!!!!!!

Other things to thing about, budget, ventalation if indoors, seeds or clones, nutes etc etc etc. You need to decide where you "can" grow which will eliminate the majority of your problems then all you have to do is google the rest. As for what is best there is a very simple answer......"what you soe you reap". In other words put in the time and learn the art of growing through trial and error and a little help here! Now think about this for one second........if there were a huge difference between hydro and soil would not everyone be doing the same thing?

For me I use hydro simply put because of my living arrangement. I spent the money purchased a producer (feel free to google that) and it has paid for it's self twice over.
