Soil to Hydro

My buddy just gave me a already rooted clone in soil, can i wash the roots off and put it into my hydro system? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i just switched out a couple of my little one's into hydro a few days ago and they seem to be doing pretty good

Yea it'll be fine just don't crush the roots when cleaning.
