I made the mistake of not shredding my 2-3 tonnes of leaves this past fall too. SMH, lol, slow times there as well..I am missing compost right now. I started pure leaf compost last October and it is going painfully slow, as is my worm bed... I should stop by your thread again and see how you boost your micro-herd. It was very interesting but I was never able to get past the micro/trace deficiency. School of hard knocks over here...
You said that your GRD is rick in Fe, but what I need is a boost in Mn, Zn, and Cu.
I definitely share a few of my tricks on the thread though, as always.
Regarding your Mn, Zn, and Cu, though, you might be happy to hear that the GRD has all of those as well.
Not in the 40,000 ppm range like Fe can reach, but nice and present nonetheless.
Curious how you run your worm farm.. I always find mine to be quite fast! I moved just over 6 months ago, and already have 2 extra bins of 100 litres each, finished and refined, nice and full spectrum.. all made from juicing scraps. Which might help up my turnover now that I think about it, being so broken down by the juicer.. but yeah, lots in the soil already too.. had 3 fresh strong totes / big bins full before I mixed up some living soil, it only took 2 months or so!
EDIT: You can also add Zn rich foods to your worm farm, to counter Zn deficiency .. or any deficiency..
for example, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, are the highest two sources! Along with chick peas, lentils and beans..
