Soil recommendations?

Whats the best soil for running autos? I have some I have to get rid of and FFOF seems to have always caused them issues when young. Trying to avoid transplanting to limit the stress on them

What nutes?

I'm a huge fan of Promix HP, peat based, fantastic, no nightmares like ffof soil
I've got some FF nutes right now but im looking to switch to GH bloom, grow and micro before I start the new batch. I have heard some great things about promix so I'll look into that one

I run the GH flora trio in my dwc, love it, done a bit with it in the promix, I'd say it's a great option
I'm looking to get into DWC as well, seems to be a lot less headaches than growing in a soil medium from what I've seen. Would you recommend this for someone who only has 2 grows under his belt? And if you dont mind me asking; about how much would it cost to get a decent set up for say 4 plants going for someone who has none of the equipment for it?

I'd say do promix 1st.

I went from dirt..to hydro or dwc, loved it, but more work

Promix is really easy. Good way to learn how a plant thinks a d reacts to nutes. Promix is passive hydro since it's soilless medium, but more like dirt than dwc

A few hundred can get u started in dwc, but I'd try promix 1st, much easier to learn

Okay I'll stick with that for the time being, thank you for the help!

Do you do anything special to it before reusing? Or just shake out the old root ball and go?
I dump it in a heap I have outside. Let the rain leach it. I don’t feed heavily anyway especially at the end of flower. I also tend to combine it with fresh PM or Sunshine 4 more recently. But I’ve had to use it straight from the pile to fill containers. No problems.

There a few good “ out of bag “ mixes ….

Kelloggs
Dr. Earth
EB Stone
Recipe 420
Sunshine 4
I’ve switched to Sunshine 4 starting this year. Same size bale as Pro Mix. Pro Mix $65. Sunshine $37. Easy decision. It needs a bit more perlite than PM but for that price I don’t care.

I tend to at a minimum ADD more perlite AND Neem meal / EWC.

To all bagged mixes …

Neem meal adds pest protection in case bag comes with “ friends “.
