Soil question

I live on about 30 acres all rolling hills and have lately been wondering if i want to grow or not. I do not want to grow inside, to much mess and work so i need to grow outside which should not be a problem. I could grow it almost anywhere without it being seen and were i could reach them without to much trouble but how hard is it to grow outside? How often would i have to water and I am pretty sure that i need to start them in pots first but if i wanted could i start them in the ground. So how should i start growing these?

Its going to be a pain, have you thought about how often freezes come through and what not in whereever you live?

I'd start indoors for up to a month before your last frost is due in your area. So many things well destroy young plants early on. Watering is a big hassle if you have to carry it in. It all depends on your climate how often if ever you'll need to irrigate.

I Planned on waiting 2 months before i start to grow and i now i have the realization the a month inside is best so i will deal with it. I have an ATV for watering so im not worried about that. But i still dont know if the soil out there will even let them grow once i move them from the pots to the ground

Yeah, if your not sure you can just grow in big pots outdoors like say plastic garbage cans filled with potting soil mix (I like Pro Mix BTW) Now's a good time to get out there and dig some manure, rotten leaves and rotten logs, bonemeal etc into your site so that the soil chemistry can be completed by the time you plant out next spring.
