Hey guys, I bought the Fox farm soil the one with the fish and shells on the cover and the one with the frog because I thought that that’s all I needed, it said one for veg and one for bloom but I’ve been reading that people add a lot more stuff, can anyone help. I know that one is perlite but i thought these bags had that already. Thanks in Advace

You can if you want. I used a root riot pod after I germinated the seed. After the roots started coming out of the root riot pod. I put the pod into a 50/50 mix of the two soils you have, happy frog and ocean forest. Then from there I transplanted one more time to a 5 gallon pot of all ocean forest. The ocean forest had enough nutrients in it to last about the fitst 3-4 weeks. I did not use any nutrients until my first week of bloom. I'd listen to midmo because wow!!! Look at that pretty pretty pretty growth. Congrats mid that's awesome. My 2cents as a novice may only be worth 2 cents lol but depending on pot size you could try and go with a "water only living super soil" type deal. With those 2 ff mixes and a couple added amendments you could layer soil mixes and plant in the final pot as well as only having mostly regular waterings with some additional topdressing or mycos & molasses tea feeding here and there. Even something like one shot or recharge which is even easier might be something to check out if you want to go from start to finish with less nutrient upkeep and no transplants etc.Just a thought as that's what I'm looking into for my next round. But like I said midmo obviously knows what he or she is doing so I'd go with their advice over mine for sure. I'm hoping that even though what I'm talking about is a bit more intricate to set up, if done right it should be less work throughout... Or at least that's the idea. I've also seen over and over that it wouldn't hurt to add some pumice or a lil aeration of your choice to the ff ocean forest. Best of luck ,may the odds be forever in your favor & sorry for the rant.

Everyone’s advice is appreciated, I’m going to look into what you said but I’m gona go with midmo suggested. Thanks guys

Where did you get your seeds from? I went with an over seas company Nirvana! Great prices and they only sell their seeds. So you know you are not getting some other seeds repackaged.they also have a very descreet shipping. They run $25-$40 for a pack of fems. Plus it seems to me that there seed characteristicsare not over stated like some breeders. I just ordered some from attitude that seem to be stuck in Chicago :( although thats probably more my fault since I did not click on discreet shipping. :(

From what I have read ocean forest can definitely be a hot mix. Also I have read that Fox Farms soil can be pretty inconsistent. So maybe I got lucky with the batch I recieved. But definitely do a 50/50 mix with the two types of soil... another thing I did, seemed to help was at the bottom of the pot I put a layer of pumice/volcano rock about an inch to an inch to inch and half deep to help with drainage. Also as far as living super soils are concerned.. they definitely seem to be the way to go. I decided to go with a basic soil grow and get some grows under me before I try to undertake such a thing. But definitely sounds interesting!

Thanks man, the volcano rock sounds about right, I’m doing that when I transplant my clones

Right on the money, nice...
(a commercial grow lab co. I read an article on does exactly what u do, molasses & Nuits after 30 or so days)
