Soil PH

hey all, I'am using Happy Frog soil. Do I need to check the Ph? I have been watering with distilled, only gave nutes once so far 6 days ago at 50% strength and checked ph before giving. Now the very tip tip of my leaves are showing a little yellowing. Started with clones, now they are about 12-14in tall. Also I've been only watering when top 3in drys out. So far it's been like watering every 4-6 days. Any info helps. Thanks a lot

Sometimes it takes a bit for a deficiency to show then it takes time to show improvements.

Lots of debate about if you need to
Ph in soil and the answer is
"It depends" (<<<Yer welcome)

Indoor I ph and ppm my nutrient solution in soil.
I'm superstitious and like my nutrients to be ready absorbable asap

Outside I do not ph unless I'm putting in something that wildly swings the number

Having said all that, for years I did not ph my nutrients in soil and got away with it.

But now I do just because in my mind it makes sense that the less the swing the more I stay in the zone

I'm with @charface. I don't PH my soil unless I am having an issue. But I believe in PHing water and nute solution. I know soil is supposed to buffer but from my personal experience, when I get lazy on it, I see an impact. I think your municipal water characterisitics may have an impact

With that said, I do get to know how much PH adjustment I need to add so I don't always break out the frustrating slow PH meter. In my system, I know that 1.2 ml of PH down gets straight water to around 5.8 where I want it. And as long as I add equal amount of my addititives respectively (Dyna FOliage and ProTekt), the same 1.2 works.

Distilled water is not your friend, you will need to add and balance everything
