hi all i am a soil grower but all my friends do hydro i was thinking of changing but i just think soil is the way or is hydro just an excuse for more problems anyone tell me more thanks.
I have not tried Hydro, but this is my opinion. I think I can get very good yield and high quality results using soil (Not really soil as most potting mixes contain no actual soil). IMO the advantage of potting mixes are the buffer it gives for water and nutes. I am trying to achieve a reasonable constant supply for my wife and my own consumption. I really think it depends on what you want to get out of it.hi all i am a soil grower but all my friends do hydro i was thinking of changing but i just think soil is the way or is hydro just an excuse for more problems anyone tell me more thanks.
i've gone from my first grow in soil to my third grow being in coco and now my 5th grow will be in DWC (deep water culture)
it's got nothing todo with yeild and quality, for me the changes are all absed on convenience. i have a full time job and a flatmate who knows no better, so stealth and soil, and now coco, are really just not easy, neither is the watering each morning, so i'm opting for hydro where my only waste to get rid of is water (and the plant amtter of course) and i only need to feed/change the res once a week effectively.
i still had good results using soil and coco though. but hydro looks like it'll work best with my lifestyle, i'll have to see in a months time.
oh, and hydro is a cool principal, much more exciting than boring soiilllhaha
