Ok im gonna make this as quick and clear as i can for you guys lol.

1. Whats a good kind of soil i can use? (not too expensive though, because this is just a "lets see if i can do it grow")

2. I want to use "General Hydroponics 3-part flora" so if you guys could, please tell me how i would do this whole "nute" thing with the soil you tell me to use. (Because sometimes, some soils have nutes already and all that)

Thanks for the help everyone, It is very appreciated!

For ease of availability why not go with Miracle Grow Organic soil, its like 3-4 bux a bag at Home Depot. As for the nutes Im no expert but Im sure all the major brands are quality products its just a matter of using them correctly and not burning your plants........its waaaaaaay easier to add more later than it is to take them out of the soil/plant after they've been added. When and what are you gonna grow?

miracle grow soil stunted some of my earlier grows during flowering. Those nutrients dont sit well after a few weeks, and often require flushing from the medium, and replacing the medium. The money you'll save in the end by buying foxfarm soil and advanced nutrients' products will be worth the trouble, I promise.

Im giving MG a second try because the first time it worked fine from start to finish, around here there isnt FF and some of these other brands available (at least to my knowledge). Im sure other soils are superior no doubt but not always an option, thats my reasoning behind my suggestion...plus MG has and is working for me is all. Whats a bag of FF cost out of curiosity Gio?

Kellog soil, perlite, MG - all purpose, MG - bloom both nutes used @ 1/2 strength.
All items from Homedepot around 20 -25 bucks.

You can order Fox Farm ocean forest on amazon, htgsupply, and many other sites. However, this is usually expensive due to the shipping. If you aren't growing many plants, they sell smaller bags then the 1.5 cubic feet. This will be much lighter, which in turn will reduce the shipping costs greatly. Moreover, check Fox Farm's website for outlets to buy the soil. I live in a small town and I take a nice drive an hour away to grab a few bags every 3-4 months. Lastly, great soil+great stable seeds will ultimately increase your quality and ability to grow as a beginner.
PS. You can usually find all the nutes on amazon along with free shipping.

I will never suggest to anyone not too grow a plant. I willsuggest that you believe in your grow and your ability to complete it with a healthy plant. As in karate kid "In life walk left side of road ok...walk right side of road, ok. Walk middle of the road <Squish> Growing is same Grow yes, ok Grow no, ok Grow I guess so plants <squish>"

Anyway my first major suggestion to save some money and plan a better grow. Read, study, plan and act on your grow. Tons og info here on RIU and people who want too help. The link in my signature is a series of how to videos done by master growers.

As for the soil, MG is not the boogey monster of soils as a lot of peeps here seem to believe it is. The main issue with it is those damn time released water activated nutes. Especially for someone doing a first grow just to see if they can do it. When planted a lot will soak the medium he seedlings are in. This releases a huge amount of nutes so she starts to wilt. Now she has the appearance of under-watering so you up the watering amount and schedule. Hmmm why are her leaves looking all scrunched up? She must need even more water. Now her leaves are getting fried. Wow, it must be really dry in there...add more water. plant <squish>. If you choose to use MG potting soil it can be done very cheaply. And also successfully. Again study some stuff about growing in that medium. Knowledge is power and the more you know the happier your girls and the bigger and better the harvest! Best of luck to you!

Nice!! but the thing is, i kinda suck at watering so i dont really think i should use MG lol
Just germinate your seeds, plop them in moist soil and watch em grow........I used a cheapo 4ft dual cfl growing lamp and maybe after a week they got a squeek of water each, just enough so they stayed moist. Gotta have some faith in yourself! :D

Here...this what I'm growing with some cheap (Kellog soil - contains bat shit, worm casting etc.) from homedepot and using MG nutes.
I'm happy with the results.

KISS... Keep it simple stupid. Since it looks like its will be your 1st grow.

Happy frog with perlite rocks. I used General ORGANICS. Mix at 50%. My plants were super healthy. My mothers were in 5 gallon smart pots for a year, in organic soil :D

Hence the reason for my main suggestion of reading

I changed your quote a tad, I capitalized the I's for you. If you have no confidence in your ability your girls will suffer. Don't let that happen! Cannabis is a weed that wants to grow!...take a look at this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oew-OwcPQjg

You CAN do the MG! I am currently doing a grow in MG could not afford the usual soil this time and she needed some dirt when I put her in it.Picture 022.jpg

If I can do it YOU can too.

make your own. peat, expanded clays, worm castings. add some kelp meal and minor nute/traces and it'll be better than anything you can buy. let it sit for a month to "blend and sweeten."
