Soil mother plants / Hydro clones?

Is the idea ---

Keeping the mother plants in soil for the whole time and then doing clones hydroponically far fetched or does no one see a problem with that?

I was thinking about doing this since I only have one hydroponic set up, and orig. didn't plan on having clones.

So that would work? I just don't want to have to build another hydroponic setup, figured soil would just be easier for the mothers.

I do it all the time. No problems. It is easier to control the size of the mothers in soil, by limiting pot size.

Hydro mothers grow too fast to keep for very long. It is much better to keep the mothers in soil in a different grow area.Keep mothers and vegging in one area and flowering pots in the other for a continuous grow..
