Soil mixing question

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to use sunshine mix #4 with the following nutrients:

Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4
Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4
Gaia Green Worm Castings

Question 1: When mixing my soil together, Gaia Green calls for 3 tbps per gallon of soil for the 4-4-4 but should I be using slightly less than that because of the additional nitrogen in the worm castings? Or is it all gentle enough that I can follow the amounts as per the directions on each container?

Question 2: Should I add any amount of the Power Bloom 2-8-4 to the soil while mixing or ONLY top dress prior to flowering?

I don't think I would worry about the ewc making it too potent as you said they should be gentle .just try and let it cook after you mix it for around a month if you can.
I just started adding the power bloom to my base soil mix at about 1/4 to 1/3 power bloom to 3/4 to 2/3 all purpose and its working good so far.

Sunshine like promix doesnt have much lime,so doesnt hurt to add some dolomite lime before you cook it.
Edit I also like to do a ph paste test prior to mixing as ea bag can be different ,not 100% acute but gives you an idea.

Because everything is slow release and needs to be broken down through decomposition before it’s available to the plants you should not have to worry much about over fertilization or nutrient toxicity. You can add the power bloom as a top dress later on in later stages of growth but a small amount in the soil globally probably won’t hurt either. It is better to transplant regularly as needed instead of trying to start off in one big ass pot. Add what they will need just before it is needed....

Awww why? I've been always planting my seeds straight in my big bed/pot. Why is this a potentially bad thing to do? I figure just plant them where they grow and let their roots associate with mycorrhiza right away form the get-go. And then never have to worry about transplanting ever. Is that bad?

I feel the same way about this. I've always grown in a peat pellet in the past but now that I'm getting back into this years later, I'm wondering what is so bad about starting from seed in it's final pot. This would happen naturally in nature, wouldn't it be more beneficial for the roots to not hit a wall several times while the plant is developing? Makes me think of turtles, they will remain smaller if they live in a small aquarium, or grow larger if their space is larger.
