soil mix smells like mold...........................................

i bought some really good mix from a hydro store and i just noticed today it smells like mold.....could it have been because i keep it in the room where the girls are?????its 60 or so % humidity in that room.....the thing is expensive and its the size of a bail of hay........................can i still use it ,i put it somewhere else thats not humid........i dont know can anyone tell me

If in doubt ....relocate, never smell your freshly opened dirt you might get legionnaires disease, fucking nasty shit too ...google it breathing those fungi spores then shitting in your lungs, then you toke ...GGGrrr!

ummmmmm okay thats the thing its been in here for 5 day didnt smell nothing then i just got a wiff of mold smelt the dirt and it was that.......i just wanna know if its usable......and wats this about mold and my lung i never knew that bro...thanks

Don't keep soil in your grow room. If you live in a cold climate put it outside and let it freeze.... then use it after it warms up.

If it smells like mold I wouldn't risk it. You're investing electricity and nutrients among other things, you don't wanna waste that over something that might kill them. If I were you I'd just buy a new bag of soil and toss the other one, if it smells ridiculous.

Yeah, but it's less expensive than losing your plants I can't tell you if it's good or not, but from what you said I'd toss it.

yea if its bad like you say id just replace it , if you dont got the cash for it , buy patio plus at home depot im using it for my current grow , and check my outdoor link i did for my outdoor, i did half in fox farm a couple in roots organic soil and a few in patio plus , patio plus and fox farm growth was pretty much the same roots organic was the better 1 but now to be dropping 100 bux on 3 bags, id go for patio plus at 5 dollars a bag. plus it has perilite,bat guano , worm casting, lime(for buffering ph), etc the works for the low!

alright thanks guys i threw it out and baught some of that from home depo and i baught my 35 a bag......just wanna see how it works out(compare)

Mold is bawd, mmmmmmkay

Mold by it's self should smell earthy like ant other compost , Some of the better compost is made by mold (leaf mold)

It's the half fermented compounds that will stink .

Does it smell earthy or like something bad ??
