soil mix opinions.......

ok heres the soil i decided to go with this year

8 bags of " EB STONE EDNA'S BEST"
each bag is 1.5 cu ft

Contains Composted Fir Bark, Sphagnum Peat Moss, Redwood Compost, Mushroom Compost, Volcanic Pumice, Earthworm Castings, Washed Sand, Kelp Meal, Bat Guano, Feather Meal, Gypsum and Mycorrhizae.Oyster Shell Lime and Dolomite Lime are added as pH adjusters. A natural wetting agent, Yucca shidegera saponin, has been added to help remoisten the product.

5 bags of "Kelloggs PATIO PLUS"
each bag also 1.5 cu ft
The ingredients in Kellog "Patio Plus":
composted forest products, canadian peat moss, composted chicken manure, rice hulls, horticultural sand, perlite, bat guano, kelp meal & worm castings

Gardeners brand "Chicken Manure" 2 bags @ 1 cu ft. each

1 bale of PRO MIX HD (two "cool off" the mix a bit so we can plant before letting it sit a full month hopefully more like 2 weeks also to retain water with the peat moss)

2 bags (50 lbs each) of "play sand" from Home Depot for drainage

1 HUGE bag of "nor cal brand PERLITE"

1 of them $20 big bags of vermiculite from Home depot.

a couple lbs of dolomite lime

and a bag of the FOX FARMS MARINE CUISINE (10-7-7)

so what do you guys say about your experiences with this stuff and any suggestions on a mix? as far as %'s go and what not?

btw, im not spending anymore money on this shit so what i got will have to make due, but my question is if you had all the things laid out in front of you what would you do with it percentage wise?

also do you think if i just through it all together the rations of dirt to manure to perlite & vermiculite. would add up to about right? and if so would this be enough to fill about 1, 20 gal pots?

thanks folks

sounds like you have everything for the party. i heard some folks who use marine cuisine say they have had problems with animals. it definitely looks like good ferts though. keep us updated on how it goes.

yea i would see how it could cause pest problems, but thats taken care of i got a 65 lb bulldog in the backyard for pest control!
