I have some Perlite, Dolomite Lime, Worm casting, Mexican Bat Guano (10-1-1) for veg and Jamaican Bat Guano(1-10-1) for flower. How do I mix these I will be using Sunshine mix #4. I'm trying to go 100% organic because my last grow I did chemicals and the taste was SICK even with a Flush. Will I have to use any more nutes since my soil will be nice and rich? I have AN Grow, Micro, Bloom but don't wanna use cause its not organic.

I'd go with 50% sunshine mix. 25% worm castings. 25% perlite. As far a guanos I like to add a tsp of each per gallon of mix. Same goes for the lime. Add some water and stir it up once a week for a month or so. You want to let it cook. With that mix you won't have many issues with water ph. Just feed and water. Hope this helps. Good luck. What are you growing? If you want to go all organic check out General Organics GO box. It has everything you need to run 6 plants start to finish. Cost you around 30 bucks. I love the stuff and have had some great results using it. And with that medium you won't have to worry about ph ing anything.

I'm growing Grand Daddy Purple and Liberty Haze. There in cups right now at a week old. Just bought my SM#4 so when it gets here I will mix soil up and transplant in about another week and a half.

The warmer the better to cook your mix. I use a trash can right next to my woodstove. If i'm making a hurry up mix I stir and add water to it 2 times a week. I've gotten away with cooking my mix in 2 weeks. Mix it really well too!

Nice avatar bro. You can always mix soil with a little bit of dolomite for ph balance. And you can top dress with the bat guanos. Also I can suggest getting some kelp meal for the K your nutes are lacking potassium.

Good advice. Kelp meal also provides many trace minerals that MJ loves.

Sunshine Advanced Mix #4 has plenty of perlite, trust me. It has coco coir in it already and is quite a light\loose mix. All it really needs is the earthworm castings and\or some compost or forest humus. Then mix in your guano, I would use a little of both, but more of the Jamaican for flower. That probably wont be enough as far as the full spectrum of nutrients goes. I would recommend a general purpose dry organic such as Espoma Garden-Tone (or any of the Espoma-Tones), at least, and the kelp meal certainly wouldn't hurt.

That sure seems like a lot of whoopie for a bag of dirt. Money too.

I guess I'll have to get my measuring cup and make me a recipe.

I use a pot method with lava rocks in the bottom it. Then I use my soil mix on top. Some people do it the other way. Anyway it helps to drain the nutes.

When I mix the soil I use mulch composed of previous plants. Better in soil than in the trash. I also use the ashes from previous duoabies and even the paper nibbles.

I put it in a bag for at least two months on the porch. Stir before using.

Check out the Old School Organics sub-forum and look through the stickies. There is a good deal of information about mixing soil for "cooking", recipes, etc. For example, dolomite lime is used quite extensively as opposed to any liquid Cal-Mag.
