Fungus gnats aren't normally something I worry about, at least in no-till. Yeah they were a moderate issue in cycle #1 and smaller in #2, after that for me they were not to be seen. Even yellow cards will not get a single one now in cycle #7. Don't worry much about them if you're establishing a no-till.,

Still fighting the basterds,ive added sand now as mulch.This has helped ten fold thx to someone on here.
Now the problem is im careful to water slowly but the soil floats up and disturbs the barrier.
If i have to keep adding sand will this be a problem ?

Perlite, rather than sand. I had fungus gnats recently and this wiped them out. Sticky traps dealt with the flyers. I have also discovered that a few doses of carbonated water seems to kill off the larvae.
