I just purchased some Scotts potting soil (i know it wasnt my best choice, but it was either that or MG). I cut the soi with about 30-40% perlite so I'm hoping everything should be fine. My question is if I germinate my seeds in a paper towel, wll I be alright to transfer the seedling to the Scotts soil right away or do I need to start the seedlings in some other medium?

Good going not choosing MG. Also, perfect soil/perlite ratio.

You can plant sprouted seeds in soil with absolutely no problem. Make a 1cm hole by sticking your finger in the soil. Place the seed with the tap root pointing down. Cover with dirt without pressing it on the seed.

Thanks for the replies. You dont think I will have any nute burn or problems starting the seeds in the soil? The soil says it feeds for 4 months and contains 0.07%-0.01%-0.03%

Scotts is Miracle Grow and Miracle Grow is Scotts you knuckleheads, lol. You can make that soil work, but just know what you are dealing with.

Yes your right they are the same company but the fertilizer percentages are differnnt in the scotts potting soil and MG potting soil. Scotts contain .07-.01-.03 while MG potting soil contains .21-.07-.14. So as you can see, the scotts soil contains far lower percentages than the MG mix.

Well aware of this. Also, usualsuspect, those nute % are ok, as long as you don't overwater, as llLOU said.
