Every other day, start off with a half dose and work your way up. You can use organic nutrients more often, for example I use seaweed every watering from start to finish.

Hi pacmanll,

Can you tell me what kind of nutes do you plan to use? Usually, you want to start off by giving them half strength for the first feeding to see how they react. Wait a week or so, and depending on your plant give them more or less and continue to feed every week, once a week at full strength. Depending on the nutes you use, you could feed at lower doses everytime you water. In the end, it depends on how your plant reacts and only experimenting will teach you that.

great info, i'll be using humboldt master a, and master b, hygrozyme, also root excelurator, so far for vegging, not too sure about flowing boost yet. my soil is peritle, fox farm ocean forrest, and fox farm happy frog. i am also thinking about prunning or trimming, not sure as well, im looking for the best quailty, thanks again.

Sounds like your well on your way. If I were you I would just follow Humboldt's feeding chart. Feed once a week following the instructions on their website, after all, Humboldt makes these nutrients specifically for our needs.

I actually enjoy both. No matter what method I use, I always prune the lower branches for air circulation and to promote top growth. I only prune the branches that are weak or small, "popcorn bud" sites if you will, branches that are at the bottom of the light spectrum.

so it would be best to trim in the first 3 weeks or flowering. thinking about bending the plant when its about 12 inches or so. then spreading out buds with rope to let light inside plant later in its flowering stages. would u prefer this?

I use nutes every time, the most ill use is half strength though, I also only water every 3rd to 4th day, get a soil moisture monitor and you will see that even if the top two inches look bone dry, youll still have decen moisture down in the ball for couple days, I also do a thorough soak when I water,

If training the plant yeah I usually begin when its 12 inches, but I always do it in the vegging stage. At 12 inches I tie down the top to make an arc, then I wait until the side branches grow upwards and tall enough for them to get tied down, and repeat the process as many times as I like or as few. After I bend the last branches I always wait at least 5-7 days before flowering. That's the way I achieve the biggest buds from training, it is not necessarily the only way to do it, some bend during flowering and it works out for them. I prefer to have my plants under control with an even canopy and ready to go before I begin flowering. Also, training takes more time, patients is the key when training.
