If I can give you any advice it would be don't scrimp on soil, it's the single best thing you can do to start your garden right. Everything else is catch-up. 175# at harvest should give you enough return to re-pay the loan.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll do 2 bales of pro mix per 300 gallon and a cu yd of good top soil. Top soil is 25 a cu yd which is 200 gallons and 2 bales is 57 gallons and I'll make up the rest with amendments. That puts me at 75 a hole plus nutes so 100 ish which is 5 k a hole and unless I luck out and get the best top soil ever than 5 k seems to be my adjusted budget. The thing that sucks is Michigan makes you have a locked facility so I'm constructing a greenhouse which is taking most my budget. I know soil makes the difference, but I can't spend 20 k for dirt . I need that happy medium. If anybody could get me down to 75 a hole please let me know. Also should I put it in ground or above because if I go above then I lose height in my GH.

Thanks man this gives me something to go off. I'm trying to free up cash to spend more on soil.

Whatever you're transplanting out of will take up space and you won't fill all the way to the top, so you might not have to make up as much as think plus you can topdress later on should you free up some cash. Suck it up and dig holes if height is a question, can't underestimate good airflow. Sounds like a good plan, good luck!

Anyone know anything about irrigation? I was thinking 1.5 to 3/4 down to 1/4 with drip emitters although I would like to emulate rainfall so I'm not sold on the drip emitters. Anyone know what size pump I could use . some of the hose will be 100 foot long so I might need to make it two

Definitely different variables to figure out your irrigation. One sure thing that helps is thinking about distance from pump and where you split the line for your plants. The furthest plants will have less pressure and so get less water. I try to split at points that are even distances away, and use valves to adjust each plant. I use 1/2 inch poly with drip emitters because it's more efficient.

Thanks I'm gonna try and find a thread on it. Has anyone saw this marijuana monopoly trying to set up shop in Ohio its called responsible Ohio. I know its off topic, but I hate to think that this could be the future of the industry. I'm all about people making money, but when your so scared of competition that you have to form a constitutional monopoly because they obviously are not to competent when it comes to cultivation.

I got 2 years out of 200 gal pots with this same mixture, also in Michigan. 300 gal would b over kill, I agree. also agree his budget is not enough for that size grow. if u do it right u will be very happy. 12 plants in 200 gal pots with this mixture will cost you about $325 per pot, however, no nutes needed and u should get 5lbs per plant.

I've gotten 10lbs. out of a 400 gallon pot. Bubblegum finished end of september. Just saying it wouldn't hurt to at least do 1 bigger pot to see if there is a difference.
