I live far from any grow shops of any kind and all places that have perlite have put it up for the year. Just wondering If anyone has experience adding drainage in any way other than perlite. Takes a week for my 2 gallons of soil/peat to dry and believe its to stagnant and causing issues. Plz help all advice appreciated

smart pots aka fabric pots are great. you can make them with 5 gal plastic buckets, use a hole saw and cut a crap load of holes, and then line put in a reusable shopping bag , or lanscaping fabric. i have sweeeet 4 gallon square pots i just did this with, I like it better cause you can replace the fabric shopping bag and clean the yucky one later or something. air pots also help add oxygen to the root zone, giving it a better air-water ratio and increasing water uptake. expect to have to water a lot!

Check out building supply places. Perlite is used as an insulating material and is sold in 4cf bags, $25 or less.
