soil advice

okay so im writing out my list of supplies i have to get and this also being my first grow. i plan on doing potted plants and a few people have given me some great tips and pointers. i plan on using potted soil with nutes to help for the first few weeks of its growth. i'm just kind of at a loss with what to get let alone on a short budget. i want to start off with a simple yet effective mixture or something all in one.

Lowe's/Home Depot have the following:

Base organic potting soil w/no nutes...not miracle grow organic. These are off brands that only cost a few dollars/bag.
Mushroom compost
Peat
Perlite
The above 3 are cheap, so far you're at 4 different items for about 20 bucks.
Add the following from Home Depot:

And you're done, that's a LOT of medium for less than $30. I also add worm castings, which are expensive when compared to the rest.

bonus! lowes is down the road to, thanks man.
That's where I buy my bagged base potting soil. Can't recall the name but it's some company in Georgia. It's a bit on the sandy side, but it works out b/c the mushroom compost(and worm castings in particular)are very dense. Go easy on the peat, 25% max. Also, you don't need anything else for the entire life cycle. I add molasses tea as well, that's even cheaper.

This is fully organic and works better/cheaper than expensive bagged pre=fertilized products...you can even re-use this soil blend.

i'd rather keep it organic i dont trust all that chemical stuff. this is gonna be my first growing experience. gonna germ in about 2-3 weeks and start em off in a box than transfer them to a to a couple 3 gallon pots and just keep em in the sun and bring em in at night.
