soggies please nitpick my sog plan

hello everybody! (dr. nick voice)

after outdoor is harvested i plan on doing a indoor sea of green

plant limit is 25...
i got 3 clones about 2 weeks ago..that leaves that leaves 22 plants for the sog....i have them set up in the mother room under a 4' 6 bulb t5...
strains are the white,gsc and blackwater...

i have around 6-8 weeks to grow the moms...and get enough cuttings...
i hope to run one stain at a time...the moms are under a 4' 6 bulb t5

the plan goes like this...
small trash cans/buckets from the dollar store (around 1.5-2 gallons each)
4'x4' tent... a 600w hps and 400w hps...roots organic or coco and perlite....
dyna-gro nutes


things im not sure about:
size of the pots ok?
veg times/when to flip
lighting ok/overkill?
should i top the clones?
fat chicks
the time frame of a mom spitting out 22 cuttings
anything i am forgetting or you think i should know?

Hey man, good plan so far, but you really don't need much as far as pots to do sog, if your limited on space, check out my "PPP SOG grow" link in my signature at bottom, lots of info in there for ya on sog. I did mine in red solo cups and 1 gallon grow bags. My plants never got a foot tall, thru harvest. I grew colas in a cup lol!!!

When it comes to veg. time, its up to you, just remember the plant will stretch in flower, so leave enough room for that. The plant will grow in veg as long as YOU let it. Once you flip to 12/12 the phase changes and they start the flower stage about two weeks later with clusters at the nodes. This 2 week phase is when you give them their last full dose of nitrogen to store it for flowering and the stretch and swell to come once you notice the clusters start introducing flower nutes., and gradually build up.

i ran my sog under 2 400 watt Metal Halides the whole grow, the thing to remember is this.....A 400 watt light fixture will give efficient light for a 3ftx3ft square cabinet. so with your lights, i would personally build 2 cabinets, put 1 strain in under the 600w, then after the flip to 12/12 throw more in the other cabinet under the 400w. in veg., then flower in 2-3 weeks. This way you flower one side and harvest, then in 3 -4 weeks you harvest the other side......Double the harvest :

.....Topping is done to stop vertical growth for lower branches to catch up to the same level, in SOG you want just one big cola, like a gooey rock candy on a stick

SO, AGAIN NO TOPPING IN SOG.....PUT THOSE SCISSORS DOWN

You can only cut one thing on SOG plants, once you flower, snip off any of the lower branches longer than 1/2 inch. This way when the buds form and grow, they will grow into each other forming one bud swelled to its max. potential

i have grown 3 indoor crops so i have some base knowledge...
i have to keep my plant limits in check...so i can't run more than 25 plants...
my tent is 54"x54" im going to run 20 plants so each container can be 13.5" x 10.8" hopefully i can find something about that size cheaply
a container around that size is going to be around 1.5 to 2ish gallons...
how much veg time would it take to make full use of the soil/growing medium in the container?
now from what you said...im doing a pro vs cons of running two tents vs one right now...
a 2x3 tent is only $80 and i could do 6 plants in that under the 400w
and 16 in the 4x4 tent
im not sure if the 6 plant tent would yield enough to make it worth it...i haven't flowered with the 400w yet so im not really sure what to expect...
