SOG

I only have a few grows under my belt but i was looking to test my skills with 16 plants SOG style. Was looking for strain suggestions something that matures fast (so Indica?). Dont want to use auto as i want to take clones. I will be starting all 16 from seed.
Thank you for your help

you want something that doesn't branch much and creates an even canopy bubble bomb, purple kush, flo , critical sensi star , Death Star.

i run a sog in a 4ftx6ft f&d tray, almost every strain ive planted worked out.. the clones seem to evolve to fit the grow style by 3rd or 4th generation. ak48 is fast and easy, northern lights, skunk, original afghan, im running th seeds bubble gum wright now with great yields of dense crystal covered goodness.. i would suggest buying a stabilized hybrid seed, not F1's in SOG you want uniform plants pluss stabilized seeds your not doing phenio hunts, every seed should produce reliable, uniform, structures.. be carefull as most seeds sold are not stable, so be sure its a stabilized strain, ibl,bx3, or true breed.. seedsmans original skunk#1, original afghan, th seeds or serious seeds bubble gum, just to name a few..
id like to start a thred on stabilized seed strains, because its alot of work trying to find them as most seeds are f1 crosses.. mr.nice shit sais its a true breed, but ive planted a bunch and every one was different... if you know of any stabilized strains and which breeder please list it for me as im always looking for more stabilized strains....

Very informative post. Thank you. I'll stay away from f1. probable go with nothern lights. I think everyone is always looking for the newest stable strain. U should start that thread

i know the nl##5 from bcsc sais its a stabilized seed,, i havnt found any other stabilized northern lights seeds, every seed company has a version of nl but none are stabilized. if you find a stabilized nl please let me know the breeder so i can get it.. i have several nl strains but none seem to be stabilized hybrids...i have the nl5 from bcsc, planted a few and they all seemed stable but slow to grow,, but after a few generations of clones the growth rate improved drasticly.. the original seed moms took 4 months to get a few clones off each, but by the 4th generation of clone moms, a 3 week veg gets multiple clones..nirvanas northern lights had 6 great moms out a pack of 10 but all wer a bit different, far from a stable strain.. seedsmans nl also got some good phenio's but not stable, please let me know of a stabilized northern lights...i see lots of stabilized skunk seeds,,but no nl's..as i said seedsmans original skunk#1 is a stable seed and lemon skunk from green house is stable, sensi's skunk#1 also stable but i liked seedsmans better, less leafy better structure and bigger yields..

1. SOG grows are usually done from clones from a known good mother. This keeps the canopy pretty even, and greatly reduces the chances of hermies.

2. SCROG uses many less plants than SOG and produces rival yields, with the great advantage that you can't get into as much trouble if caught with 3 plants as you can with 16 plants. That's just the reality of the way the marijuana laws are written. But if you're legal, this isn't a concern.

And yes, indicas are generally shorter, bushier, and flower faster than sativas. But AK47 is a counter example.
