SOG start up looking for suggestons and help!

Starting perpetual grow... Looking for advice
So i am going to be starting my first indoor grow and as of now i am leaning to going with the sea of green grow meathod. i have 2 4x4x8 rooms to work with, i can only put tents in them(cant disrupt the room), was thinking of dividing 2 4x4x7ft 8inch tents in half.

For instance tent A top would be mothers
bottom would be clones
Tent B top and bottom would be flowering
all areas would be 4x4x3.75ft roughly

I would like to have 4 mothers under a 400 watt mh, as well as my clones under a 400 watt mh.

For my flowering i want to do 2 600watt hps lights in cool tubes, 6 or 8inch(thoughts). my concern is keeping them cool enough in a 4x4x3.75 room and being able to grow clones directly from rooting without them growing to close to the 600 watt lights. Perhaps go with 400 watts in cool tubes, but budgets not an issue really and i want to grow as best as possible.

The plan is to cut either 12 clones every 2 weeks and keep the best 8 and introduce 8 fresh clones every 2 weeks, or to cut 24 clones a month and introduce 16 fresh clones a month. Either way i plan on having 16 flowering plants from clone in both the top and bottom of my flowering tent.

I am aiming for 8 ozs a month minimum! After a few harvests with my strains and dialing everything in i hope to get between 12 and 16oz a month total.

For strains i am doing world of seeds yumboldt 47 and wos landrace afghan kush, i own these. and i wish to purchase jack herer and cinderella 99 as my 4 mother lineup.

Was wondering if i can get any insight on all aspects from SOG growers or anyone with copious amounts of small indoor grows!!!

Ask any questions left out tons of info, or give any and all suggestions please!!!!

sounds like an awesome plan dude....i pretty much do the SOG method , being that i only have a 250w hps and ive been growing 7-8 plants under it ea grow and i let ea one get 100 - 12 inches before flowering and ive been pretty happy with the results so far....

I think your going to get a reallity check soon on the amount you will get out of those two tents but i could be wrong. also if you are using the top of the tent for mothers and the bottom for clones the bottom is going to heat up the top to much i thinkand you wont have much room for lights. you really need to have more AIR space for ease of controlling the environment or have a very safisticated exaust controller and lots of fans. the ocean grows bigger fish and i think you can figure out the rest of the phrase. I have a 6x10x8tall flower room and if i divided up my 6 plants that fill that room to the max into a monthly amount it would be in the range of 32oz a month with 6 very large 5-6 foot tall adult plants under a screen and spread out to fill the whole room with tops. look at my avatar and those are the tops that are about every 4 to 6 inches in my scrog through out the whole room and on a 8-9 week flower i get about3.5 to 4 lbs. with 2 - 1000 watt hps going and with a co2 system. if you do as good as you think please send me some pointers and pictures. good luck and happy growing

If your doing a sog grow look for quality sog strains like Deadwood or Mcfly. They have been known to produce 2lb harvests under a 1k lamp. Good luck on your 1st grow

A half ounce per plant is really ambitious for a first grow. And you're gonna need an absurd amount of airflow to cool your lights if you're making two layers. 3.5 feet is really small. Remember the light is gonna take up like 8"-10" with the cool tube, then you need 6" of space between the light and canopy. Your medium will also take up at least 6". That's half your vertical space. The Afghan Kush may cooperate and finish at 20" if it goes right into flower as soon as it roots. I don't know about the Yumbolt or the C99 because I haven't grown them (I really want to grow the Cindy), but Jacks will not cooperate.
I hate to be a downer but I just don't think growing in 3.5' of vertical space will give you the yields you're looking for. I'm working in a crawl space that's 4.5' from the floor to the lower part of the boards and we use vertical lights because there isn't enough room under them when they're horizontally mounted. That being said, you could do a vertical system in one tent and get a comparable yield to the SOG. How to position the plants so you can do it perpetually I don't know, but I'm sure it's possible. Lookup Heath Robinson's flooded vertical tube grow. I want to build a similar system when I have the funds.
