SOG question

I have decided to do a simple SOG with ebb and flow tables. I am going to grow 9 week strains so that I harvest every 3 weeks off of 3 tables.

I am going to veg for one week after clone.

Question :

I have a 12' L X 6' H X 4' D area

Would it be better to squeeze in three 4' X 4' tables or have some extra room in my garden and do three 3' x 3' tables?

With 4' x 4' I could fit more plants or spread them apart to give them more room. . . .

I am using four 400 watt lights (don't ask about my lighting)

Well you will def need some room to tend to your plants so make sure you can get to all the plants.

If so go with the bigger tables

400w is not enough light for 4x4 tables you would be better using 3x3 for each 400w or a 9x3 foot table. if you go for 4x4 table then i would use 2x400w per table.

Dude... Chill out.
First of all, the lighting you're using is very important in determining what size table is appropriate, its really not out of line to mention that 400w isn't really alot of light for a 4x4 table.

Secondly, when you say something like "dont ask about my lights" it really brings out the natural instinct in most curious people to ask "whats with the lighting?". I know its the first thing that popped into my head.

Thirdly, Whats up with the lighting and your aversion to discussing it? Its an integral part of a grow and makes a big difference, i know you want answers about table size. But noone is going to design your growroom for you. You need to get in your room and map out where your tables would go, taking into account things like reservoir size (I need 20 gallons for a 2'x4', i'd imagine you'd need at least 40 gallons for a 4'x4', 3 of those is 120gallons or about 1200 lbs of water, nothing to scoff at), what medium you're going to use, having space to get at every plant, having enough ventilation/airflow, having the ability to put out enough clones to fill said tables, using light effeciently, and so forth.

If you have a space thats only 4' wide theres no sane person who would put in 4' tables, even 3' is pretty big, you need to be able to get at your plants, or at least at your lighting to change height as you go. Theres a million factors to consider and you're the only one who can make these decisions.

Sorry for coming to your thread and talking about lighting, but lighting matters, there are more factors to consider other than space.
