Lion, bro, i know you can give me some sweet top secret or somewhere to look for those mini gens...i know you said that word is some people already have them, testing or something

any pics i can see?

this might be a sweet replacement for closet growers

how are your feelings on liquid cooling light reflector? the hydrogen's ice box or the fresca sol?

I've read the bible & know what everybody says, but in my experience, 2 x 400 isn't even close to a 1000w. 400s typically put out about 40k lumens, 1000w do 140k lumens. I know spread makes a difference, but I am running a 1000w Hortilux Super Blue in a Magnum XXXL. It spreads better than my 2 x 400 in standard hoods.
1000's rock - no doubt... what kind of hoods are your 400's? You gotta compare apples to apples... You got the choice setup with the Magnum at 1000 watts!!! That is a cutting edge reflector the size of a house. I am guessing your 400's are older with less expensive bulbs, less reflective materials, older ballasts, etc, etc... I truly believe that if you compared a single Radiant AC 6 with a single 1000 watt light vs 2 Radiant AC 6's with 400's, same bulbs - that you could get better light over a single rectangular tray such as a 3 x 6 or 4 x 8 with the 400's. Understand, you must attend to the light height of the 400's to keep them at optimum (perhaps adjusting more than once a day!). This factor alone can make raising and lowering ducted lights a headache - hence the common use of hanging your 1000's at one height for the whole grow. If this is you and you dont care to mess with light height with any regularity - then 1000's are a must! Again - my humblest of opinions - I too have read the Bible (about 1000 times) - and realize real world is real world! There's just one question you gotta ask yourself, "Do you feel lucky today?" Magnum Force

One question about your Magnum - do the corners leak air? My buddy just hung 4 in his zone and all 4 leak? Did he put the seal on backwards or what? The tape on the corners just kills me - they are so sexy and bright - but duct tape on your brand new hoods! His are hung at the ceiling and they light the room up and run cool - good shit!

I agree, a different story. 600s are actually more efficient than a 1000 lumens/watt.

The FogBox system is insane. They featured my grow in the video. It's the one with the 4 XL units in early flower.

I'm no agent, Bro - but I will keep my eyes out for the inside track on the new Hydrogen.

I think the Ice Box is awesome in concept - I have some great feedback from a reliable source but I don't know? I was going to hang one in the middle of my new room - attached to one of those Magnum reflectors with a 6 inch vortex. It get's pricy - once you get the heat reflectors, the IceBox, and plumb the water (pumps, hosing, res, chiller, etc, etc!) Next time I may build the room AROUND a moat of water that will be used to cool my CO2 and lights - doing away with traditional AC!

Liquid cooled lights are, well - cool! But they are not for me... by design - they diminish much of the light before you even get going. They seem to work well for those that use them!

The 400s reflectors are:
hydrofarm lumenmax about 18" x 24"
SunSystems cool sun 20 x 24

so the two together are about the same as the magnum, no where near as advanced design.
No prob with air leaks, totally happy, worth the $$

No shiet! Congrats, Bra! I would love to check it out! Is it on a site or something or YouTube? Please post the link!

I always thought it would be cool to do a radiant heat dispersal with a co2 generator & light cooler. You could coil a bunch of tubing and dig a whole and burry it. Use the ground temp to cool the water. Free A/C!

Nice - yeah they are sweet - and actually seem like an incredible deal! That's a whole lot of reflector for the money! Good choice.

The video is a teaser. I think the site is going live next week. They have just been selling them in Oregon as a test market. Great laws here. OMMP rules!

Yeah - now you are talking! I am currently most intrigued with gardening as green as possible - being super efficient and using less energy and water. That kind of thinking coupled with solar power, LED lighting, etc - the future looks bright!!!

Nice, Bro - great system! Those roots are off the hook! Keep us posted.

Oregon does rule - you guys have the choice skate parks too!

Ya, I wish LEDs were a bit further along. The 3w based ones are the only ones you can effectively flower with. I've got a little 45w panel with 1/2w LEDs. It is currently vegging 6 plants in a NFT system. I still use some supplemental floro. I originally used it in an aero modified Phototron and it rocked! the plant was sticking 2 feet out of the unit!

Sic! Just the best parks in the world - all in one state! What is up with you guys? Send some of your people our way... that snake run at Lincoln City looks off the hook - actually it looks scary - I won't lie!

I have yet to try an LED light - but the Lumigrow almost got me - I like the design - but how the hell are you supposed to dial in your own color spectrum? At first I thought those knobs were cool - to adjust color temp - but how do you know what to go for? You just "eye it up" - that won't work - or will it? At $2500 a pop - I was not ready to find out... It's been some time - I need to check back on their progress with that light.

The cost of the new LED tech as marketed in the US is just not worth it. You can get the same hardware directly from china. A buddy of mine just ordered $1k from Guang Dong China out of curiosity. We'll see what he does with it.

Where in Portland will you be selling those fog-boxes? Any hort. stores, or just custom orders via the gmail address?
I would LOVE to see what he does with it! I bet it will work great! Guang Dong, Baby. Damn - it's late!

He said it, not me!:-)
they are coming soon, I'm working n isolating my attic
hoping to finish in the next few days

when running dual spectrum's your main concern is spreading evenly
otherwise you will get a patch growth when one side getting more or less colors then the other and vice verse
the only way i found around this is having light movers
i personally cant run inside the tents, nor i like the idea of the light spinning
anyone runing light movers with dual spectrum's?

I have been in contact with come Chinese distributors, just seems so sketchy.
Yeah, you've pretty much gotta bite the bullet on that one if you want the cheaper prices. I can tell you from years of dealing directly with Chinese manufacturers (Neodymium magnet dudes) that it's a lot less daunting than it sounds once you get the first order to clear customs, etc. You'll just be joining the army of north american retailers who do the same with countless other products, thus fooling the rest of us into thinking you have some special secret communique with China that we could never establish ourselves. :bigjoint: No big deal.

Sweeeet on the attic isolation proj.

That's interesting to note about the even spread of spectrum. I'd just kinda ignorantly thought they'd bleed together nice and easy by the time they hit the plant. There's probably a huge discrepancy in coverage from one sq. ft. to the next then.

I'm wary of movers because I suspect they don't grow as dense buds, but Lions has me second guessing that *sound* logic, and as I read more and more, it seems that maybe a 'cloudy' day is almost as good as an intensely 'sunny' one. . .

I went down to an electricians supply store and purchased a 400 watt Howard (non-cased) ballast. It can run both hps and mh it was only $100 and it works great. To top I dropped It once and we all know how heavy the thing is, and it still works no problem. So if you have not so deep pockets like mine give that a try.
;-)
Since we're talking about lights has anyone heard anything good/bad about the duel ballasts that run 2 lights from one ballast? The cost for Lumatek 600W X 2 is almost the same as one duel 600 ballast. I haven't seen anything about them here so I thought I would ask.

Where those pics SOG???<taps foot>
