between the insulated attic room build and the my DIY Ice Box
allot have changed since i thought out my original plan

My Sealed Room Configuration
This a totally controlled environment
Where every aspect of the plants production can be
manipulated and customized to produce the optimum results
With this type setup you get the maximum ability to dictate and control
Temperatures, Co2 Levels, Humidity, disease, and pests
24 Hours a day, 365 a year

No outdoors air is entering or leaving the room
Tents are located inside the main sealed room
I'd love to get some feedback before i move on to deploy

Truely inspiring sir... I too am working on a homemade aero/nft setup. I have a 4x4x7 growtent... I'm using 6" PVC rather than the square posts. Till now i've been using some homemade aerotubs, which get the job done but are in no way comparable to the results from the nft systems. After reading your grow journal the first thing i went out and did was exchange the hood i just purchased for a cooltube fixture. I'm loving it and its perfect for the tent setup. I'm posting a pic of the progress i have so far with the system and i'll shoot some more pics over tomorrow or monday as i finish up.

And again i must say... Truely inspiring...

Thank you Mitus, and welcome to the discussion
I saw your post earlier on Stinks thread, beautiful clean work bra
i couldn't help noticing Earl's influence with your design
personally i think the fence tubes are much nicer to work with
i custom build mine out on 4 3/4" fence tubes,
instead of the 4" most use, i later saw a 5" fence tubes at HD
those round tubes look like a lot of work and messing around with

you know its not to late to change, especially where you are with your setup
later it becomes a much more complex,
you can still build your system out of the fence tube for minimal coasts

if you like the top mist, take a look at what i came up with for a no leak, top mister fence tube site (top drain inside the fence tube, no leaks )

you might want to look into Soft PVC piping and QC fitting,
instead of hard plumbing, I'd use QC type fittings (used in my RO system), to bring your misters over
i didn't know or trust these at first, but they proved themselves in my RO system
its plumbing Lego time, the fitting are pressure fitted; no tools needed
it hold like a mofo, and the best part it can be disassembled in a sec
again... no tools needed

(all can be purchased at HD)

Wow - looks super choice to me! A 1000W MH for veg? I realize money is not an issue - but I wonder if a lower wattage MH or T5 lighting wouldn't be better... the jump for rooted clones to move under a 1000 watt lamp may be a bit drastic? ...or perhaps that's just what they need! haha You da man!

Well hearing that from someone else is deffinately a good thing... i had previously planned to use the softer tubing at HD in the irrigation department. In my current design i am actually using one of those fittings (in the pics below).

It wouldnt be hard to do that for the whole thing i guess but i think for the purpose of this run i'm going to stick with the plan. But deffinately after reading your stuff I have big plans for the future :).

I did actually buy some of those 4 3/4" posts and still have them laying in the back yard hehe. I just wasnt liking them... plus couldnt find the end caps anywhere and didnt want to go ghetto style and make my own. Then i stumbled across this plumbing warehouse that has EVERTHING you could imagine as far as piping goes... i felt like a kid in a candy shop haha... in a strange way lol. A similar feeling to the first time i walked into the hydro store... anyways i've got some tubing to cut and some shit to drill bongsmilie
I may use those extra square posts to build this nft/fog unit i sketch out. I'll let ya know :)

alright got a question for the pros. how many clones in 2 liter containers (soda bottles) do you think you could fit under a 400HPS with eh about 150 watts in side lighting in an ideal sized box lined in mylar and all that. i was hoping to hear around 20 but i have no idea really as i have no experience and i just want this info for plans.

and whats a good yield for a clone in a 2 liter with about 2 weeks veg. and what could i expect my first grow?

this is all organic soil grow...

THx everyone this site is my new hangout haha

i also wanted to hear from SOG himself as i have read a lot of this thread and this style of grow is where i thinks its at haha

I fit 48 clones under a 600w... I imagine if you prune for single cola SOG style, you could fit at least 36...

Just my opinion though....

SOG is growing hydro... not soil. I think maybe your questions are in the wrong forum.

REALLY now i didnt know that.

ive seen people using close together single cola plants and call it SOG.

is it just a technicality of the name SOG or does it have to be done in hydro. i dont see why it wouldent work with soil.

Sup Uncle, welcome to our discussion
now some folks get a bit confused with my nickname SoG
what YaK was trying to tell you is, since we are growing mediumless
and your question altough your running sog grow style,
your question is soil based SoG, most of us growing hydroponic
YaK was simply trying politely to point you in the right direction
to find your answer faster if posted in the correct sub forum

wow SOG, that was really confusing I had to read it twice LOL

Unkle Sam,

you are correct that SoG (sea of green) is a style consistent with growing multiple single cola plants in a small area, it can be done in any medium, aero, hydro, soil, coco etc...

Yak was saying that SOG(the member) is growing in hydro, and that your questions (about soil) are in the wrong forum.

oh LOL this is SOGs thread. i knew that but i thought the title implied SOG grow room discussion as in like a public discussion on sog, not on SOG's. room. i read about his but i just though he was sharing ya know what i mean. i cant beleve i have been reading this thread (hardly now i realize) and didnt know that.

lol,
sorry if i was confusing with explanation
that's the common mistake i was referring to
i didn't realize it at the time i was splitting "SOG Grow Room Op" thread

i just though he was sharing ya know what i mean
i lost you there!

this was originally split from my journal - SOG Grow Room Op
and was done to keep information from getting scattered, as the thread grows

this thread and my journal are huge buckets of information
I'm confused, what are we not sharing?

it was suggested by YaK, you might want to hit a thread
with folks who have experience with SOG and soil
you might find more accurate/related information to your grow style

Hey SOG, I'm sure you've covered this... But I'm new to it and was wondering how to properly prune for Sog style.
Have time to cover it or point me in the right direction?

you should in theory always prune the bottom parts about 1/3 to 1/2
since they don't get proper light exposure, its a waist of energy for the plant

Al B.'s thread "Get a harvest every two weeks" explains this technique in detail
