Absolutely love your refined design. Are you planning to line the inside of the RES. with the trash bags that have been talked about in Stinks thread? If they don't fit in yours', that would be the only shortcoming I can see to your design. Those strong box bottoms look like they would be a pain to clean if you couldn't use the trash bags.
I clean these strongboxes all the time. I have both the lowes, and the HomeDeport versions.
I havent found a plastic liner yet that fits them nicely, but if I do, I will use them, the ease of a liner is pretty nice, plus, it's recyclable.
I have no fence posts, just the res, so it's much easier for me to line them... but to tell you the truth, they arent that hard to clean, I use simple green and a stiff bristle brush in the back yard with the garden hose and a nozzle, and they clean up pretty nicely.
I love following this thread, the ideas and thought process implimented by SOG is impressive, I look at the designs and almost always think "brilliance!" BUT, having had to clean this shit time and again.. well, the more there is, the more difficult it is to clean, and cleaning between harvests is (besides trimming) really the bulk of the workload.
Nutrients leave a lot of residue and salts, and it does take an effort to clean everything. I'm so f'n lazy, that to me less is more, lol. I love ingenuity though and I know his system will kick ass.
If only we could automate the cleaning process! i wouldnt care what the costs are, I'd emulate it.

have you guys ever thought about hooking these systems up to individual 55 gallons with float valves in the res and tubeing and grommets .. seems like they would need to be filled once a week and if you could just mix batches accordingly?? just a suggestion.. save some time maybe...

Heard back from Sentinel about the initial power surge with electrical motors
PXM-1, PXM-2, HPH-4, HPH-8 all have built in contactors relay internally
rated up to 15Aamp, specifically design for triggered electrical motors
HPH-4 has a higher capacity contactors rated @ 30amp, i will be wiring it to a 20amp 110v
this should handle the the heavier load from the 14k AC unit without tripping the breaker

That sucks, Sog. Even with a "premium" membership you are out of space. That seems just a bit chincy. From what I gathered, you don't seem to be getting much for that membership anyways. Hope it works out...wouldn't want to see you have to move the journal, but I'm sure most of us would follow you where ever you go. Your project is just too cool to not be there with you...

i'm familiar with the product in your link
id stay away from it, go with sentinel line of products
been talking to the sentinel people, which are the same people who designed
the item in your link, they spun off their old company CAP and started Sentinel
their products are newly designed from the ground up
and are much better equip to handle today's agriculture needs
from ballasts internal delay, internal contactors, and many other features
that don't exist in the outdated CAP product line
which are still running analog controllers, same as green air
stay away from these outdated product lines

and if the guy running this place wont even respond to a guy who paid his site to offer soemthing then, honestly, fuck this site.
if i was you, sog, id feel the same way, and just knowing that this place is being ran by slackers like that makes me want to move my own journal to a better managed site as well.
