SOG Budding Help

Hell all! So this is my 1st post here after lurking.... Ive got a 3'x1.5' tent with a 400 wattcooltube, running 10 Afgh goo in Sea of Green.

NOW....Ive done this before... I ran mendo purple last cycle and it did amaaazing, yielded between a QP and a Half P. But amidst all the amazingness....i recognized things i could improve..one being...that I didnt deal with side branching, even though I was trying for budscicles... I beleived they wouldnt do much, or put out many leaves, or buds etc... well.... they did very quick...and quickly shaded out my tent and lower buds...over half my weight was popcorn..with the other half coming from the tops. So i told myself id not let any side branching on the next cycle.

So I ahve these Afghgoo, About 2 feet tall now... lol, they grew amazing... As soon as any side branches appeared, after they were about 2" tall, id pinch them off, well above the main stem, up ont he petiole, as to not damage the axillalry bud on the stem. So fast forward into flower... and the tops tart to glisten and cola up...BUT... all those nodes i left open all the way down the stem of the plant...NEVER budded. So only the tops of my plants have colas... Each stem axillary has 2 pistils showing like it wants to bud, and its covered in triches....but JUSt the tops are budding. How could cutting those side branches off stop those nodes from flowering? I should be getting 2 foot colas...instead imma get like 8 inch ones... Any help or advice so it doesn't happen again...although looking at them ill still hit my half lb I hope.... Links attached

First 3 of my setup in question... and the last one is just for pornz, its my green crack soil in an identical tent with 3 weeks left

After rooting, let them veg for about 6 days. (produce 3 internodes)
Flip to 12/12.
In the first 2 weeks of flower cut off anything that looks like it has or will get longer than an inch.
After the first 2 weeks of 12/12, it is what is and should grow colas, based on genetics and photomorphology.

With a single 400, 8" colas seems about right. If you want to see some good improvement, try a 315 or 400 cmh.
Remember clone selection and health is of utmost importance!!

If it were me, in such a small space, I would run 9 6x6 pots with hydroton on a constant drip system.
