Soft buds when drying

Do you guys get this? Before harvest your nugs are rock hard then on day 3 of hanging they are limp and soft...

What makes for a rock hard dried nug that could knock someone out? I guess it's density and after the limp phase things will tighten up.

They get soft from being dehydrated. It's the same thing that happens to the leaves when a plant is under watered. The lack of water or turgor pressure in plant cells cause the leaves to go limp.

They arent dry right? Id think you are in a humid environment and not quite dry yet.
