Marijuana costs too much to produce in the united states with all the unions and regulations. What we need is a free trade agreement with Columbia and Mexico to produce these goods without government intrusion and regulations so that job creators can create jobs.

This Obama action is protectionism at its worst.

I personally do not want foreign produced cannabis available legally, if you do not want to grow your own then deal with the american market. As is the price is collapsing by the year and will continue to do so, the regulations will also fall away as time passes. If you flood the market with foreign drugs all you are doing is putting people out of work, and put people on the streets.

Sunlight and land are cheap and plentiful, the main cost is regulation and the illegality.

Umm, besides getting owned by fact, I think they still believe its one big Obama government conspiracy.

No, not a big OBAMA conspiracy. He's just the shiniest turd for now. The pieces come and go, like a freshly washed Wendy's floor. The conspiracy is the coercive system that thinks for people to control their own bodies they must first be given permission. If Obama himself was about freedom, he'd have dismantled the DEA years ago and would never have signed a mandatory "free healthcare" bill into law. His behavior, is similar to the douchebag that preceded him and the one that will follow him.

You sound a little like a prohibitionist and a bit contradictory. Asking the government to protect a market is a very bad idea for the consumer and ultimately for freedom.

Do you feel the same way about beer? Should we boycott all foreign beers, wines, tobacco products etc?

I want open markets. If you want to go buy Pabst Blue Ribbon at the store you can, along with hundreds of other beers both foreign and domestic.

I like choice!

His wife isn't really fat, she is a size 8. She isn't like those whales you see coming out of Jenny Craig or anything.

But I commend the Troll.

Not a prohibitionist but tired of unfair trade practices, if we can not sell our cannabis to Columbia, Canada, Jamaica or (insert country A) they should not have the right to sell us there cannabis. The same with any other consumer product that is traded globally, for fair trade to occur we require the same treatment that is offered to the products offered for sale by the local producers. If we allow for marijuana to be imported from Columbia in this case, they will not allow us to export cannabis or cannabis based products in to there country. And all we would have done was gut our own production, farmers, and all the other services that are based around cannabis.

You are missing a key difference I can legally and without prejudice export liquor to the same countries as those who are importing them from. I can buy a German produced car in america or an american produced car in Germany without tariffs or legal issues. I can not purchase American produced cannabis in Columbia, but i can purchase Columbian produced cannabis in Columbia without legal repercussion.

As far as choice goes I love it, but I much prefer fair trade that does not create unfair barriers to the American public's ability to compete on an equal playing field in a foreign market.

I am not sure what religion, political affiliation or abortion has to do with cannabis or free trade.
