Back when I worked construction there was a kid who was hired as a Iron worker apprentice got engaged to his high school sweetheart when he landed that gig, one month before he was to become a journeyman he was coming home from a DJ job he had on the side and lost his life to a semi that ran the light because the driver fell asleep, 2 weeks before Christmas.
We took a collection down at the Union hall for the fiancée. She went to work at Mc Donalds for minimum wage, one night her job called and asked her to cover for someone who called out, she needed the money but couldn't get a baby sitter so she left her 6 year old to watch the 3 year old. There was a fire in her building when the firemen broke down her door because the kids were screaming.
When the Moms came home she was arrested for child endangerment, it was in the papers.
She was NOT a lazy person just happened to be at a low station in life.
This was in Brooklyn New York, pre 2001 year I retired.

So if he worked and supported the family the kids would recieve several hundred a month in social security. So X2 say that's atleast 7 800 dollars. It could be.more or less. So what's the point of this story... is it sad yes to a point. But I have no sympathy for lazy dead beats that want handouts. so say 7 dollars an hour(it was 6 something I believe) to make easy so 7 dollars x10 hrs is 70 dollars after taxes roughly 15%. So 70x15%= 10.50 so 10.50 dollars out of check so 70-10.50=59.50 correct? She decides to leave a 6 year old and a 3 year old home alone to make 60 dollars. She could have sat home amd sold her TV for for 60 dollars. No sympathy she is a stupid bitch that don't deserve kids for doing something so cruel etc to children.
