So the kid upstairs odor's are "Seeping"

The kid upstairs has a small op...I know it. First off his ballast comes on every night at 9:08pm exactly. Secondly this morning after getting out of the shower my wife calls me over to smell the odor of green marijuana seeping through our vents. I don't want to walk up there, but I'd like to find a way to tell this guy he needs to tighten up his act. Because I know I couldn't be the only person to smell this.

Is there anyway for me to tell him without spooking him. I really don't care what he does, but I'd hate for a fellow grower to get caught up in some shit.

What should I do?

Just tell him, "Hey man I like the idea of your own small grow but if I can smell it I think maybe others will to and Im not about gettin people busted, need some help or ideas on what to do with the smell?" something along those lines, hell maybe you will get a good friend/hook up/ potential partner, who know, i would just come at it like you are looking out for him and his bud.

I like your ideas. Cause I really don't want the kid to get busted. I just don't wanna come off like one of those "I know what you're up to" kinda people. Sometimes I do come off stern or in your face...I just want the guy to know I have his best interests at heart, despite not knowing him.

id just go up and talk to him...along the same lines as drgreenz...hell, last year when i had a small grow in a closet in my apt, i walked passed my middle-aged neighbour and all he said, with a big smile, was "whenever that stuff is done, you better hook me up with a sample" and closed his door. it would've been cool if he offered me some advice though haha

Is it like somebody is living on your top floor? Or are you in a condo/apartment? Id just go knock on his door and tell him whats up, maybe offer to smoke him on a joint so he doesnt get scared.

Yep. He lives in the unit directly above me.

Just walk up to him with a joint and be like "ever thought about adding some activated carbon filters to cut down on the smell?" He'll probably be freaked but you'll probably make a new friend.

leave a note on his door .. to come down and see you ..

Invite him in to let him smell it for himself .. and then light up a bone with him

I figure no matter what I say he'll be freaked but the blunt will probably put him at ease.

Yeah really if anybody said they could smell my op id be freaked right the fuck out. Even if he had a joint to smoke because if he can smell it, so can others.

I'll have to go see him. Everyone in my building is afraid of my "Vicious" dog.

To be honest...The landlord is a pretty liberal dude. He actually smokes. It's the tenants. They're fucking narcs, who will call the police over anything. It's a weird combination. Landlord who allows you to pretty much do whatever you please(within reason) and a bunch of commie tenants. If the wrong person picked up on it they'd storm the building with the tactical team.

I'm just thinking of it in terms like this. How would I handle the situation of someone told me if they smelled my grow?

I'd probably freak the fuck out too.

I think I'd be grateful that you were cool and all . but I would not even grow at my own place and I live in the woods . Im a chicken.. I grow at a friends and he gets a part of it.. I'd tell the dude right out .. but let him know I was not gonna snitch.. Maybe turn him on to RIU for smell containment idea's
