Does anybody have any suggestions????? I'm a 1st time grower and I really need the whole stealth thing you know. I'm def. growing an indica strain, but it also has to be stealthy, for now any way.

http://www.homegrown-hydroponics.com/pcgr3plsthyg.html Here is the only one I found. There is also a larger versionfor 5-7 plants. help me out, I know its hydroponics so it is harder to grow, but it's an automated system. I need help

you could make a system that outperforms that and better suits your needs for the same price or less...and CFL's are the way to go if your not gonna add any odor control. i saw a couple of DIY micro grow box plans on roll it up. or you could get one of those lil tents and do it super official

you could make a Do It Yourself version powered by Compact Flourescent Lamps that would outperform this system and give you more options. i was thinking about that same contraption, but then i saw how big a single plant can get and determined that i would need more space...by all means if you can afford it, im sure you could freak sum buds outta that thing...you would probably needa keep throwing in a bunch of small clones or sumthing

buy a home box, or grow tent of sum sort... lighting system, either soil and pots, or a hydro system...and ventilation. or you could even make one out of a storage cabinet or sumthing. but its on you if you want to spend the bread.

I say go for it. Buy a good quality all-in-one set-up and you will likely save money. I went DIY and ended up spending way more than I needed because I brought the wrong shit due to my nubyness. These set-ups seem like a deal compared to what you would spend otherwise doing it DIY. finally, I would not even screw with hydroponics. Buy yhe box and go soil. Get some Lowryder2 and they will stay low and mature fast.

Happy Place - My PC Grow Box should be here within a few days. I'm also getting an overwhelming consensus to DIY but I choose to spend the $ for a few different reasons
1. I can afford it
2. After stumbling upon a few hydro sites I was very anxious to just plant some seeds!
3. My current living situation would not allow for me to "build" anything
4. I've never grown with hydro before so I figured the best way to learn was to do it. After I've made several frustrating mistakes (and I know they're coming) I'm sure I will devote time and energy and build what I want, but right now I don't know what I want because this is all new to me.
So right now lets assume that $ is no object and I haven't any interest in building anything. Can anyone out there give advice on growing some good bud in such a confined space? Or, even better, has anyone actually used one of these PC Grow Boxes?

lowryder or dieselryder by joint doctor seeds... finishing height of around sixteen to twenty inches, with some low stress training that shouldnt be hard to keep under control in there... never used homegrown hydro but they all have clear reservoirs... no bueno. take a look at sunlight sheds, not as stealthy, but still rather sneaky if you could freak em. Screw the DIY'rs. YOu made a wise choice. I went DIY and ended up spending a shitload of cash before I got the lighting and ventilation right because I was a newb. I now have a really nice cabinet that cost me more than one of those pre-made grow cabinets not to mention the time it took.

I would rather do it DIY....but im the engineering type that can find half of what i need just laying around the house

Im diying mine at the mo, and I have to tell you im spending a shitload less than $1,095.00, fuck that. I can see how it might be hard for a complete newb, but I still see myself as a newbie 2, and the cab Im building is a beast and way cheaper than it would have cost me to buy pre-assembled. Best thing about diy is you get to tailor-configure everything so that its PERFECT, just the way you want it.

But I guess with premade you def wouldnt make any structural mistakes...either way, if you do decide to diy after a few runs with the premade, and customise things a little, you can prob use most of the same components, so it would be cheaper.

I sort of agree and disagree with edcocks;
DIYing, IF you do the research and get HELP from folks on here,
you will save like half of your money. Probably :)
Besides its fun fun fun! Like putting together a beautiful jigsaw... one that grows weed...hehe

Gd luck anyhows micro growers, and listen to jordan, find out what LST is and do it. LOTS

i thought about buying the pc grow box too, but im tellin you kaos is right. do it yourself!!! not only is it overpriced but there is too many problems. the light is only blue spectrum, youll have to buy your own red spectrum for flowering. also the light isnt adjustable and the plants only have like 12 inches from the tops of the pots to the bottom of the light..... spend some nights on rollitup, do some research and build your own.

OK I got my PC Box in the mail today and I'll be ready to start soon. First off, yes, I know I could have DIY for better and cheaper, blah, blah, blah...I'm aware of the light, and I will simple get a red for flowering.

OK, now we're past the DIY thing so there won't be anymore mention of it on this thread. What would really help me right now is some insight into growing in such a confined space. I don't nessessarily mean the demensions of the box, I've been reading a lot on LST and I think I got a good handle on it. There's room for about 12' of height, but plenty of horizontal room. I'm going to train to make them as bushy as possible.

1) I received Rockwool cubes and Hydroton rocks. I'm still unclear on exactly how to prepare the rockwool for germed seeds.
-Should they be saturated in solution?
-Should they sit in a prop tray filled w solution while they grow, and how much solution should be in the tray when they're still germed seeds?

2) I'm using a DWC that's only 3-4' deep with very small mesh baskets that hold the hydro rocks, and the rockwool with the seedlings/plants. The baskets are so small (about 3' dia) that the rockwool won't fit in it diameter wise.
-Is it OK to shave the rockwool down so it fits.
-Also, because the baskets are so small, there's not much room for the hydro rocks and the rockwool. Can anyone please help as to how and when to transplant the seedlings, and which (or both) medium do I use?
-Is the seedling supossed to be pulled out of the rockwool and placed in the hydro rocks, or, should the seedling in the rockwool be placed on top of the hydro rocks in the basket? (Important question I'm still unclear on)

3) After vegitation has begun how much solution should be in the tray? Should the baskets be more or less totally submerged, or should the bottoms of the baskets just touch the solution?

4) Should the air pump be left on 24/7 with a DWC, or can it be shut down during dark periods?

5) The PC seems to have great air circulation; two input fans and one exhaust. Should these fans be left on 24/7, or can they be shut down during dark periods?

I'm hoping someone can help me without suggesting that I change this or that, I need to work with what I have for the time being. I realize these are very newb questions but I really want my first grow to be somewhat successful. I purchased 5 feminized Snow White seeds from Nirvana and I want to do my best to get some buds out of them.

Thanks Everyone in Advance

JayDoe
