So many LED choices

Spider Farmer has a new model out. Non-dimmable sf1000D same 100w. 89.99 before any discount code.
4 of them would be $360US before discounts. 400W - 4 boards. I'd put the sf2000 in the center and each corner would get a sf1000D.
I like the idea of the flexibility in height adjustment. If growing different strains, some may get taller than others.
Weigh your options. You have plenty out there.

I like the thinking. I'm glad I posted to ask, this is bringing more fruit to bear

In all seriousness though this HLG is catching my eye. I
I'm stuck in the noob section, maybe the indoor-led too much shit in here to read lol..
I did notice he stopped answering; he may have jittered his phone out of his hand and broken it; or sold it for more Draino and cold pills.
LOL, I second what Padawan said. I think it's almost sorted though. No MH/HPS as the wife won't be happy. The SF is not powerful enough for what you need without getting a 2000 and 1000 together and even than would be more expensive for 60 less watts. You are not comfortable going the DIY route so we are left with the HLG. That or something like a Meijiu which BK78 runs very successfully. Those you would have to order from Alibaba and have shipped in. In the end it's all up to you, many roads lead to the end of this journey.

Going to get my first quantum board soon enough. My LED tent (hollandstar cheapo COB LEDS) seems to be warmer than my HPS grows but I always use a cool tube setup anyway fwiw.

You guys think 4x SF1000 would compare to a 1000w HPS in a 5x5? Or should I look at 6.

Yeah but we are in Canada bud. 4 of those would be $600. I do like the versatility thought.

The HLG 320 would be better than the Spider Farmer.
I’m light shopping to so this is helpful. The spider farmers and the hug’s have pretty much the same components (I think the spider has more red in it). With the same components as long as they are assembled properly they should be pretty similar, with the spider farmer being considerably less money. Is this line of thought faulty? I’m still pretty new at this stuff.

To compare to a 1000w HPS I would say you need 6. 600 watts of good led seems to be comparable to 1000w HPS. That's what I replaced mine with.

I feel like 6 of those bad boys would cause heat which is less manageable than my HPS in a cool tube. Being able to encase the light in a flow of air really keeps temps low.

If I crack my window the tiniest bit my 1000w HPS tent doesn't get above 23C in a room that's 18-20C

Not even close. Stick with the 1000W if those are your options.

There can be points made for either setup. I went HLG, spent more and am completely satisfied with it. Padawan runs HLG and is happy. Hydrokid runs SpiderFarmers, he is also happy. Its a big debate.
I checked. He's got a budget of 500 cad. the 4 boards will be 471 cad/360us.
Isn't that to buy from the US? Than shipping, duty, brokerage fees etc. I could be wrong but when I look at those lights here on a Canadian site they are $150 a piece. I could be missing something though.

Well I would spend a tiny bit more for the HLG, but that's just me.

30w per sq ft minimum for LED so you want at least 750w for a 5x5. There are much better options for a 5x5 space then a bunch of SF1000’s though. What’s your budget?

HLG uses top bin diodes, a much better finned heatsink, and Meanwells slightly better HLG driver compared to the Meanwell XLG the SF uses.

Next dilemna lol. HLG does not appear to be guaranteeing delivery dates currently because of this virus.
While I'm in zero rush, I don't want to wait 2 months for dropping 5-6 bills either.
