So a little experiment....

I am a fairly new grower. I have a measly 2 grows under my belt and about 7 harvests in total. For the two first grows I bought just about everything you could buy to grow a small amount of good herb indoors. I am starting a new grow and it will not be using any of the old equipment I used in my previous grows. Previously I have used 1x1000w HPS 4x150w HPS 4x150w MH, 2 large tub spray systems and 2 medium tub bubbleponic systems and sensi grow and bloom. This is not those grows...this grow is to see what I can do with only stuff I have around the house basically to see how much you really have to spend to grow (i will start using better equipment but only if I absolutely have to which will mean the experiment was a failure)...I will be using soil from an old pasture that i know is fertile with some non soil mix to help the water drain as the soil can harden up and let water through it easily. For lights I will be using sunlight during the day and CFL at night keeping the light on them 24x7. When inside I will be using a small but powerful desk fan to circulate the air around them. I have had a ton of LEDs i got dirt cheap a while back which i will be wiring up for the switch from CFL to LED. So far the plants had had excellent results. They all started outside from germinated seeds. They were planted and when they got about 3 inches I dug them out and transplanted them into pots. The transplant has affected some of them and unfortunately somehow three grew so close together I would risk killing them all to get at least one out alive. The effects of the transplant however are getting better and hopefully these will turn out OK in the end. Will posts pics daily in a grow journal.

Let me just say this not all LED are created the same. Its all about PAR.
Also if you have the space id suggest DE.

Double ended give huge penetration and huge PAR. Take a look at Gavita DE.

WIll watch this thread.

Otherwise get Genisis HPS bulbs.

I dont understand

If you have the equipment to grow good weed, then grow good weed.

If you have the equipment to grow good weed and choose not to, then choose not to.

What's the experiment?

Firstly, congrats on getting 7 harvests from 2 grows! and you will see a difference going from CFL to LED in not only in harvest weight but tighter nodes too, one word of caution, many LED users need a calcium supplement during flowering so look for rusty spots and you will know to get some calmag in.

Understandable...But I am actually using a small portion of the equipment purchased a while ago to grow some seriously good stuff but the experiment is what if I did not have all that stuff...can I still get a decent indoor grow, what does it take, will it even work and what problems will present themselves. I have a bit of free time atm and this is just something I want to do to keep myself occupied :)

Good to know thanks for the input! :)

Most of what you hear on these forums you should take with a grain of salt.
You need get enviornment, good lights and over all good PAR and spectrum and good genetics.
otherwise keep growing
