[/FONT] [FONT=arial, helvetica, sans-serif]Australian immigration officials have banned US rapper Snoop Dogg from entering the country, owing to his lengthy criminal record. Snoop Dogg was meant to co-host the MTV Australia Video Music Awards.
Kevin Andrews, Australia's Immigration Minister, said in a radio interview that "He doesn't seem the sort of bloke we want in this country." Snoop Dogg can appeal the decision, and has 28 days to do so.
It is the second time in two months that Snoop Dogg has been denied entry to a country.

Yeah he has been in trouble several times with mary in the last few years.
Prior to that he was on trial for murder.
I think most of it is publicity though.

nah idk what you guys are talking about. this is fucked. australia is so fucked up. until the mid 70s u couldnt becoem a citizen if you werent white. they're banning snoop cause he had legal trouble?? their founding fathers are rejected british criminal trash!! what gaul.. plus snoop is the man! he's just hosting a show. he's probably fucking richer than most people in their country anyway. pff w/e tho

while i think its bullshit he isn't allowed to Australia - you guys should be ashamed bashing Aussies like that.

were would you be without us? - without such movie greats as hugh jackman and nicole kidman - the world wouldn't have Vegemite - you wouldn't have penicillin - planes wouldn't have black boxes - Australia led the way for giving women the right to vote AND sit in parliament - STEVE IRWIN!! ... i could go on for a while.

I dont bash the United States when its so easy, so i would ask you take a little respect for the country i love and live in.

For banning a human being from being able to travel.....weren't those charges fullfilled by him once?....Since when are we supposta be put on trial twice for the same crime....If he took his punishment, and was not there to harm or cause conflict with anyone why is it such a big deal.....Is that the way Austraila is ...... If you do something wrong you are never to be forgiven???? Especially if you paid your debt.....I don't understand the close mindedness of others......I would like to meet you Vi.......I am begining to wonder if you put your pants on the same way I do......?

Yeh come on guys seriously, you should be the last country hating on Australia.

If we did let him in what kind of example would we be setting? i agree Snoop is a kick arse rapper i listened to him when i was growing up and still to this day. But what because of his status he should be aloud in? It would be discrimination against the rest of the people in the world with a criminal history imagine the up roar they will kick up. Its only fair and in situations like this he should be treated like a normal citizen.

But Fuk i wanted to see him in Australia.

So if you have a criminal history you can't come to Ausi or whatever you guys call it, that is some bullshit that should be discrimination right there. I'm glad I never had any interest in going there because after learning this I wouldn't want to spend a dime in that place, I mean no disrespect towards your guys country but that's bullshit plain and simple

No you can have a criminal history but just not so lenghty and intense from childhood. His got everything under the sun. America and alot of other countries are the same. I bet there has been people rejected from America because of a simple drug charge we just dont hear about it because they are the average joe.

A simple drug charge - Australia lets you in. We have had Cypress Hill, Ja Rule, 50 Cent, the Murder inc. crew and many more. Snoops record is just to hardcore and its a fair decision.

P.S we wouldnt want you here anyway! lol just kidding.
