Smoking new weed...

Hey there. I just harvested half of my first plant ever. Its a dream queen strain. Sativa dominant hybrid. Here's my situation: Plant seemed ready to me, alot of cloudy trichs, a bit of amber and a tiny bit of clear. Also, the hairs seem pretty receded with swollen calyxs. After about 3 days of drying I decided to smoke a joint, even though it hadnt been cured yet. Got me super high but the high was strange. It felt like too much pressure in my head. Anyone experience anything like this? Im thinking I either chopped early, or that weed thats not completely dried/cured can have adverse effects. Or maybe thats just how the strain is. Any comments??

My White Widow does this. It's like being kicked in the chest and you are just stunned. My Pineapple Express is much more zingy, with a ton of munchies.

Smoking herb 3 days after you cut it, you will get hardly any of the proper effect. Drying and aging are key in the conversion of THCA to THC and CBDA to CBD...The removal of carboxyl acid (COOH) groups can make a huge difference in the strain. Also, time will convert some of the already degraded THCA >THC > CBN. CBN is a psychoactive cannabinoid that adds to the intensity of the effect of both THC and CBD.

I've always found bud that was either cut too early, or not slow dried and cured correctly has kind of a speedy head high. Kind of rough, and mentally confusing, rather than settling back and going "ahhhhhh!"

There are strains that give a pressure feeling to the head, I have had some Platinum OG that I felt on my forehead or in my forehead?

I think a good month of jar time will give the real high off a strain. I slow dry now and pretty much have the buzz down after a week. Cure does not add that much to it.

Dream Queen is the same as Green Crack. There's a reason Snoop gave it that name. The real name is Cush, aka Skunk #1 x California Indica. It's also sometimes called Mango.

but ya i havent ever had the experienced of a pressurized head but i guess its possible its from not drying/curing long enough... aging is not a marijuana term its a wine term... marijuana doesnt age it drys in a week or 2 sometimes more lol lots of age!

I dunno, I think after chopping and drying even 3 days while its far from finished curing, your gonna get a fair idea of what your smokes like. It might get a little smoother, and taste a little better but will the buzz change that much? I dont think so.
