Smoking Fan Leaves?? +Rep!!!

Ok, here's the deal. I grow MJ. I also have a friend that grows that is less experienced then myself so he comes to me when he needs help. Well the other day he ask me "Can I smoke the leaves off my plant because they smell like bud". I told him "No" because its not bud. And that most plants smell like that after about a month of growing. He grows outside and his plants haven't start even flowering yet. I was right by telling him you can't smoke fan leaves right just because it smells like bud? If I was right but my reason was wrong can someone actually tell me why you can smoke fan leaves! I like telling him the right thing so I'm just making sure I did. All replies will get + rep.

Dont cut the plant away to smoke leaves. No offense but thats a crackhead move...lol but no its pointless. If it gets him high than hes a super light weight. hahaha

no do not smoke fan leaves, that would be so harsh. when ever i see budd with small leaves i pull them off. NO matter what i do everything in my power not to smoke the smallest leaves on the buds let alone fan leaves. plus pot leaves will give u headaches. my 2 cents

leaves have thc but barely any..and if his plants arent done then thats just stupid..he might be able to make some hash off the leaves after he harvests though..

Oh. IDK if he's a light weight. He's a pretty fat guy. He just wanted to know if he could smoke the leaves and get a buzz or high from it.

The percentage of THC in Fan leaves is extreamly min, you may get light headed, but thats about all.

Hell I smoke bananna peals. It's all good.

Smoking fan leafs means cutting them off and as everyone know this decreases yeild. lololololol

I have smoked dried and cured "trim" leaves and it did get me high, but it did NOT taste good at all. It is harsh and gives you a slight headache. Highly not recommended. As for fan leaves, the only good they serve is when it is still on the plant.

Yeah anybody smoking fan leaves and gets high is a lightweight.Tell your friend make some hash out of the leaves when hes ready to cut his plant down.Thats about the best with fan leaves you can do.

You CAN smoke fan leaves, it will taste terrible, and NO THC unless the plant has started flowering, and then EXTREMELY minimal!
And contrary to what was stated above, some strains NEED their fan leaves thinned for light penetration. Good example would be LA Woman, this strain produces HUGE fan leaves early, that need to be thinned out for good bud developement.

my last harvest of snow white had some killer looking surgar leafs. so i tried a big bowl full. tasted like shit, got me toasted, the leaves make a much better butter.

Hmmmm..... Not sure what that is about, However, maybe this would make my statement a little CLEARER; From the Attitude Seed Bank: DNA Genetics LA Woman, "Don't be afraid to THIN THE LARGE FAN LEAVES in the 5th week or so. This will allow the light to penetrate the canopy and reach the lower sites and WILL be replaced within a week". Good luck & good grow.......BB
