Smoking Buds Befor Their Time!?

Hello All,

First a grand thank you to RIU for all the help! This is my first grow and it could not have gone any better thanks to everyone here.
Now on to my discovery!
I accidentally broke off a small branch on the bottom of the plant while changing water last week. There were a couple of small buds on it and I hated to toss them, so, i dried it for 3 days and Saturday night, decided what the heck. I lit it up and guess what? It rocks!! It was not harsh, it did not taste bad and it got me quite high. A very clear and alert high for sure but high nonetheless.

Has anyone else had the same experience? I thought it would be a worthless smoke but I was wrong.

Here are the particulars:

DWC 5 Gal bucket
1000 watt HPS
DynaFem Amnesia
Germinated New Year's Eve
Switched to 12/12 on February 5
1 huge beautiful plant

Most of us here probly have tried a sample,I know I have,If its good now alot better when ripe.

I have been thinking that about 60-65 days would be harvest time. I am at 39 days now. With the buds being reasonably potent now, is that time fram likely shorter? I will start inspecting the Trichomes in a week or so.

do u know the strain or genetics of the plant if its indica or indica dominant or sativa or sativa dominant if indica the wait should be 7-9 weeks if sativa extend this by a week or two

Hey Purple, This is a Dynafem Amnesia. Sativa dominant for sure. I am at 49 days now and can see some of the color change beginning. I have taken one of the lower buds off to dry and compare to the first sample. Trying to figure out the best rapid drying method. Right now I have it hanging from a air conditioner vent! RIU has been the greatest resource. I am running a 1000 watt HPS and did not realize how big this plant would actually get. I have too much weed. Nice problem to have really.
