Smokey the Bear says: Don't burn down your house!

Final Phase

About 10 years ago I remember leaving for a 10 day vacation with a nice amount of herb vegetating under my house. The thought went through my head as it has many many times since - "Will my house be burned down when I get back?

By not pushing my luck too far there have been no fires in about 15 years. Five years ago the grow room was professionally wired to run 3K. At this time the light need has increased to 6.5K for the main grow space and the mother room. By timing two grows a year I'm able to grow without AC as I'm at 5,000 ft.

Three days ago I noticed a thousand watt light was out along with a couple fans... A week earlier I had been pushing the load by adding on a 400 watt light. That came to a quick halt when the circut breaker said, "NO." There was a little room to add more power to that breaker so I added two fans to the load. It ran fine... until it completely melted down. Yeah, major stupid idea!

These old analog timers are awesome. They run forever and are easey to program. So I learned the lesson to not overload the system anywhere along the line. This probably happened because the load I put on it was under the level to trip the breaker, but too much of a load on the timer so it fried.

Having access to cool electricians and plumbers has been most helpful over the years. A company here on the mountain is well known for working around plants. I was very surprised that no plants were screwed up during the 4 hours of repairing the system.

A contactor was installed to route 3 20 amp dedicated circuits. In all, the rooms are safely powered to 8K.
That's as far as I'm going as my elec. during flowering is around 650.00 a month.
