I am planning on opening a "tobacco-smoke" shop in New Jersey, which may be considered a "head shop." I need some info on what I need to do to assure that I stay within the laws concerning this. I plan on using "Products are intended for tobacco use only" disclaimers, and also checking i.d. at the door to insure that I don't let anyone in under 18. I have visited several of these shops in PA, and this seems to be their legal defense against "drug paraphanalia" charges, but I need to know New Jersey's laws concerning this matter. All info greatly appreciated. Thank You! or more over even all states if you could provide a link that would be awesome.!!

hah lucky i love business so i have to tell you have to check with your local and state goverment and possibily federal goverment in your area cause they do sell more a a item that is needed to be bought for a specific age and liek liqour shops thye are regulated by the goverment of state and local to where hey can place so if there is a head shop wiht in five miles you might not be able to open on in that area a lot of business that sell close to legal or age thing like ligour and strippers are regulated by zonign and could only have so many within a certain are or distance and like liqour stores and strip joints the goverment set the available hour for you to operate and the same is possible for head shop so check wiht all the goverment on the zonign restriction for headshops then take it from there:hump:

that would be really cool to have a head shop in nj, where in nj are u looking at? in terms of state laws, I suggest you go to a lawyer and ask them about that. they also help you get the business license. lawyers are ur best bet for info on keeping ur store on the safe side of the law.

I don't have any advice but to agree with the other gentlemen about checking your local and state laws. Good luck though!

Contact your State officials in licensing and law and ask. Also check with local officials since some towns have different laws that can be more restrictive.

Do you have a phone book? If so pick it up, turn to your town's name and look for business licenses. Then dial the number and ask what you need to do and what it will cost.

It is just that simple.

And to think that you think you can run a business ... and you don't even think to pick up a phone book and look locally. WOW!

300,000,000 sperm and that is the one that got through! Amazing!

The question was a how to question and not a will they question so there is no "depends" to it.

All that has to be done to answer the how to question is to pick up a phone book and make a call and ask. Then he can ask will they.

It is absurd asking people from all over the world how to do something in his own town.
