Smelly Leakage From CGE

I built a CGE from panda poly, 8 x 8 x 8, its totally sealed except for the AC. I can smell the PK from my yard at times. Anyone have any ideas on odor control??? Also, any ideas on completely sealing the room short of a mini split? I live in a colder climate and putting the section of the mini split outside would look suspicious in the winter. I really have to wonder how effective my CO2 supplementation is. Is it simply leaking out the AC?
I'm losing sleep over the odor issue....

If you know what a CGE is... how is it you don't know what a carbon scrubber is?

Just saying.. I haven't heard a room called a CGE in a very long time...so you are either fishing for a fight, or learning from someone who you should just ask them about it.

and... ona bucket in an 8X8 room? I say nay nay.

If you know what a CGE is, then you know there is a scrubber hanging in the room, along with a UV generated ozone maker....I can still smell from outside. There is a "leak" via the AC, I encapsulated the window mount AC and vent the hot air up the chimney....

If you have no solution or suggestion, why are you here? I'd tell you off, but I'm not into the whole child abuse thing.

Other than a "closed grow environment" I guess I didn't realize it contained ozone generators and scrubbers by definition..my mistake - I did offer advice in the form of "carbon scrubber"..and no ona buckets... apparantly the thread was to start a fight - if you knew the cause and how to fix your problem.

Start whatever you want - I can verbally castrate you all you want.

only thing i can say if find your leak and fix it. you might need to add a second layer of poly. and if A/C is sealed right shouldnt let any out.

Im also wondering about this same a/c smell problem. I think that 50% of the air in the room is recirculated back into it, but the other 50% is used to exchange heat and then pushed out the exhaust which would cause it to be un-scrubbed. maybe theres a way to get some carbon in front of it before it leaves the room ?

I'm currently shopping for a mini split myself for this exact reason, only way to really seal it. I'm expecting to pay around $600 or so, you may just have to spend the extra money. The outside unit shouldn't look too strange, I'm in a cold climate as well and my house already has an outside unit (for the central air) so I'll be adding a second one to the house and I'm not too worried about it looking odd. Could be that the second story has it's own A/C. Or maybe I finished the basement and installed a new A/C for it. Put some bushes around it, you'll be fine.

Edit: Forgot about stand alone A/C units. They're like portable units but have an intake and exhaust hose so no air is pulled from your room.

i got to disagree, re: stand alone a/c's. I've experimented with both kinds, window mount and stand-alone and it all looked good on paper before I did them. Ultimately, they all leak. How much and how stinky it gets is directly related to the quality of the AC manufacturer and the size of the grow, but they do ALL leak. The fact that the sealed room (panda poly) starts to inflate like a balloon when I turn the AC on tells me 2 things. I have a good seal AND the AC is blowing air into it drawing it from the outside of the tent. I can't see how to seal the room 100% without a mini-split. I've read that a good measure of how large a unit to get is approximately 3500 btu's per 1000w bulb, however the article didn't state if that would apply to air cooled reflectors or not. I'm finding a 10000 btu window mount is barely keeping temps below 85 with 4 x 1000w. I think that if I can get that down to about 80 with a proper mini split, I will lower the transpiration rate and hopefully some of the smell that comes along with it.

you can't really have a CGE without a minisplit, air handler, or water cooling. portable and window a/c units will leak for the most part. there are SOME high end window units and portable units which are dual chamber units but they are very expensive. LG and GE make a dual chamber window a/c and kwikool and ideal air make dual chamber portable a/c units.

You're def. loosing a ton of CO2 w/out the correct A/C...There's no doubt about that...unless you're set up for some type of fuzzy logic mode, it's a waste IMO. I don't know what you're going to do about the CO2 part w/out running fuzzy or just going for a real sealed room w/a mini split.

Is you room inside a room at all...Can you place the carbon scrubber outside the sealed room to clean air inside of any enclosure it sits in?

I'm going to be running a total of 7 1K's(possibly dimmed) through out 2 shared air rooms and they're all sealed/vented hoods with a 24K BTU mini split Mini splits are essential for a sealed environment.
