smell

I'm looking for ideas on combating smell. I'm growing in a rental unit I own and have not been able to lease in an older urban part of the city I live in. I have a veg and bloom room. I'm currently venting both into enclose porches at the front and rear of the house. everything is sealed up pretty tight, and I'm the only person going in and out of the house aside from two massive Rotties that I walk and feed everyday. so I don't really care that inside the house it may be fragrant. What I don't want is the postman or meter guys to sniff out what I'm doing. what would best fit my concern? I would like to stay away from carbon filter if possible, i knoe it sounds lazy but I don't want to rework my ducting. Deionizer? ozone generators? gel reccomendations? any help would be greatly appreciated.

um the obvious answer would be a carbon filter...

i mean really? You couldn't figure that out? Stay away from it? lol.... you just hook the shit up to your fan.. if your to lazy to do that then I cant imagine how lazy you are in real life situations

It's more than just hooking up to my fan because of where my fan is I will have to move it. not enough room to get the filter between it and the wall then I'm completly reducting the room is the situation it wil put me in. And yes carbon filter is obvious I stated that, I was asking for options. Thanks for replying with none! Please clarify the difference between real life situation and imitation life situations! I know in real life I'm a tri-athelete but fake life I'm drawing a blank of what I do.

looks like I'm off to rework a room. I guess I should feel pretty happy that this is my first snag.

There's no real need to rework the room. Get the carbon filter and run the tubing. You can set it up high (securely) or set it on the floor. Unfortunately, you'll lose some CFMs on distance and turns but you're better off in the long run. Definitely, carbon filter is the best way to go.

When you say "rental unit" you do mean an apartment or flat dont you? Your not talking about one of these are you ? > http://www.rainbowstorage.com/

No this is a house I own that due to the rental market in my city I can not rent out. So I have "leased" it to "someone" for my personal use.

ok. So you dont have to tear that work of art down. Here what you do. Get on ebay or if your in NorCal im sure there are many hydro stores. Pick up a 300cfm fan/carbon filter combo. No ducting. Just plug it in and set it on the ground. Its just duct less. This is the best way to go. You can also install a Trane Clean Effects in your central HVAC system and just run the fan from your homes thermostat. That Trane filter has Titanium Dioxide inside that neutralizes odors really well...... Really, today Im going to get a Carbon Filter with a 6 inch flange and throw this extra fan (I have here) up against it and turn it on. This setup is what my local Cannab is Shop uses and they got the stinky. Works great for them. Hope this helps.

What starts right stays right. If you can't smell it inside your house then you won't be able to smell it outside; that should be your goal. That's being proactive. Wondering if people can smell it from the outside means you already failed. That's being reactive and you have alrady lost control of the situation.

Question: What is your down side risk?
Answer: Going to jail and getting raped.

Don't fuck around with this. Reduce your liability by doing what works. This isn't a swimming meet where 1st, 2nd and 3rd all get a trophy. This is success or failure and failure equals jail.

Good luck.

another problem with smell is if your room is connected to central AC then the smell could eventually go throughout your whole house and outside at the fan. block any vents that may be in your room and give you problems later

Just an idea, have you thought of replacing the lights near the opening doors with odor killing CFLs? There are also great odor eating gels you can place in the room.

I use to use an Ionizer, but it killed the taste in the pot too. It will also damage any mylar, so no more using one of those for me!

There are a million ways to get around doing this. I suggest the carbon filter though because it really is the only true air filter.
