Smell with an Attic

I've decided to begin growing, indoors is really the only easy way for me to do it as my bedroom connects to my attic and I can't pull it off outdoors. The attic has a few outlets and overall is perfect, except one thing:

They're is an attic fan that I would say during the summer is used 4-5 times a year, the fan sucks in air from the attic to get air circulating throughout the house, its only used on very hot days but I am curious if a few homemade carbon filters could stave off the smell of growing marijuana from the fan. If I was to place them above where the fan sucks in air maybe?

dude...your attic is gonna be way to hot or cold or humidand easy to get bugs if there is any lite.......just my opinion. peace out

Put a filter where the air sucks in so there is no smell... and maybe a couple drier sheets

I think it'll be good, you're lucky to have the attic in your room

filter and carbon everything before it gets into the attic

easier for a start...

Thanks, homemade ones with a layer of drier sheets it will be then

and if more help is needed, tell your mother the house smells like shit and since she is a woman, she'll take it more serious than a death of a cousin and will go out and buy airfresheners. I think at smoke shops you can also can some pretty good marijuana scent killers for like $8. that's just last resort stuff

My room is used as the room that gets the air sucked out of to ventilate the house too, I've been flowering for a month or so, it only smells pretty in my room, but it's going very well. it's nice, good luck

I'm also curious if the smell could potentially leak to rooms below, through the insulation and dry wall. If I was to grow it on one half of the attic which is the side that connects to my room, could I mask the scent from leaking downwards with carbon filters and febreeze? If I grew only on one side of the attic could it from the other side leak into the hallways you think?

If you made a tent for it and had that ona* gel stuff from the smoke shop to mask scents I think it'll be 0 problem. It won't start smelling for 2-3 months anyways. so you have time to prepare for the smell.

Hey man I'm on the same road as you! Did you ever figure anything out? And the fan dosnt it only suck the hot air out of are attics?

Im an attic grower with a tent and it works great only problem is I dont have one of those fans in my attic and it gets hot as hell up there I need a way to get ride of the heat in the attic any ideas?

Air Conditioner, or if you have a window that opens, have a fan facing the outside and turn it on high and leave it there 24/7

Or you could spend a lot of money to buy cooling tubes for your lights

Well the a/c in my tent is connected to the cool tube and it is still hot in my tent. I could try getting a box fan and push the air out that way. It could work thanks for your in put. I need to try something cuz with out my a/c pumpin it went up to 98 today in the tent and I am scared I am going to shock my babies from too much heat.

you're only a few degrees away from being good, try to get it to 90 or lower. I think blowing the air outside would help a lot. good luck

hey Dougiefresh2011,i havent started my attic grow yet cause im still gettign everything together hows the smelling? can you smell is in the house from the attic thats my only concern??
and what do you use for a tend? thanks man and anyone else who can help

You can buy a tent or you could just nail some sheets to the ceiling when nobody is home, and I posted a fragrance killer that a lot of the pros use.
